Friday has me in the mood to PLAY! But it's raining, so let's take a little walk down memory lane....it's been awhile 😎
🐮Originally from Missouri and totally wear that midwestern charm loud & proud!
🤸♀️I'm a big kid at heart, will never pass up a doughnut, and will always choose sneakers over heels.
🗽I moved to NYC 10 years ago (WOAH) to work in the fashion industry. I first interned at and then worked at a few PR Agencies the next couple of years.
💅🏼It sounds glamorous on paper, and it honestly probably was....but my heart just wasn't in it.
🦄I've always had this hunger for a bigger life. No, I don't mean money & luxury. I mean happiness, FUN, making an impact, excitement, learning, loving & truly living.
After I decided the fashion industry maybe wasn't my calling, I took a year to waitress & do a little soul searching.
💪🏼Being an athlete growing up, struggling with an eating disorder for 10+ years, and this desire to help others, the fitness industry was calling my name and damnnn did it deliver!
6 years in the industry and I've held multiple roles within my career and counting:

- group fitness instructor at OTF
- Head Coach at OTF UWS
- Virtual Instructor & Trainer

Some days I'm just waiting for someone to pinch me awake, because I truly feel like I'm living my dreams.... and it's only just the beginning.
My life has in NO way gone how I'd expected. I thought I wanted to be a young mom 😳 & veterinarian. I mean, a cat mom of 4 totally counts....so maybe I'm right on track HA

I don't know about you, but I LIVEEEE for the summer time. Warm weather, icy cold drinks, long summer nights, outdoor adventures (aka roaming the city for hours.) And the occasional vacay, which I feel so lucky to have gotten to go to last week in Cancun!
{First time paddleboarding and it was hardddd (or maybe that was the tequila), but so fun once I got the hang of it. Have you tried?!}

My whole life I've been searching and trying to find where I fit in this world.
Even as a child, I was always thinking that I needed to be different than who I was and trying to find ways to "fit in."
If you didn't already know, I actually went to college for a degree in Fashion Merchandising - that's what brought me to NYC!
For once in my life, I felt like I actually made it! Me, living in NYC and working for a bomb PR company..... and I can honestly say I had never felt so disconnected from myself as I did during those 3 years.
So what did I do? What my crazy self always does.... I quit. I knew I was meant for something different once again, something more!
Growing up an athlete, dealing with an eating disorder for half my life, and the desire to be able to change other's lives, I knew exactly where my calling was....
It's been 7 years since I made the decision to switch careers, one of the toughest yet most rewarding decisions of my life. Becoming a personal trainer has not only changed my life, but I've been able to inspire and help change hundreds of my client's live!
When I lost my job last year when gyms closed down, I saw an opportunity to pivot once again!
How can I reach even more lives and continue paving my own path in this world?
The online space!
So I dove head first - utilizing my years of experience in business, managing teams, and my 6+ years of personal training, I started creating this new life for myself in the online space!
It wasn't until this rebranding that I was able to actually see me as not only a trainer but also as a goofball who doesn't need to "fit in".
I realized I can do and be all the things at the same time and grow as a person - with permission.
This is my permission to myself to show up as me, but this is also your permission to do what feels right for you!
Even if that means saying f*uck all the rules! Even if that means pivoting completely.
Change is hard, but it's always soooo worth it!
And I am always here to guide you through your own changes.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but I definitely did....
▫️It is absolutely never going to be the right timing.
▫️You're never going to have it all figured out.
▫️You're going to fight yourself, tell yourself you can't, and want to quit.
▫️You didn't do it yesterday, so.....
▫️Your goal seems so out of reach, why either bother?
▫️Not starting is a lot easier than creating discipline and just doing the damn thing.
▫️You're frustrated you don't see results right away.
We all want amazing things in our life! But are you ready and willing to get our of your old patterns of the easy way out and get uncomfortable doing something different, regardless of the amount of time it might take?
- Working towards your dream bod

We can wish and want things all day long, but until you start taking MESSY 👏 CONSISTENT 👏 ACTION, you're going to stay stuck where you're at.
Take away the stress of the end goal, and get in the present. Work on your mindset, work through your daily roadblocks, get comfortable being uncomfortable!
It's not that you aren't capable, because you totally are! Set the fear aside for a second, and get clear on your WHY and WHAT.... and start chasing that dream.
Drop a hell yeah below if you're working through roadblocks too, but doing the damn thing anyways 🙋♀️.
Let's chat consistency.
It sucks.
It's tough.
It's one of the hardest pieces when it comes to anything in life - especially working out.
It's so damn easy to get excited & set the plans for change....right?!
That's the easy part!
The hard part?
Actually sticking to the fu@king plan.
So why do we resist so hard?
Usually it's because we're so focused on the outcome instead of being in the present with the process.
We want instant gratification..... and if you've been working hard with your workouts for two weeks and not seeing results, then what's the point.... right?!
We also tend to jump in head first - the all or nothing mindset. I have to give up all the good foods, workouts 6 days a week, no alcohol, no sugar, no fun.... and then you hit a wall of burnout & temptation.
The key to change?
Slow progress. Mastering ONE thing before you move on to the next. Getting really good & confident in one area, and that can be as small as taking a daily walk or drinking enough water.
The key to consistency?
Remembering WHY you started in the first place. If you don't have at least 5 WHY's to what you're doing, then why are you even doing it?
No one is forcing you to workout.... you WANT to & you GET to 💪🏼
Find your WHY, and take it slowwwwww.

I donut share 😜🍩.
There was a time I would have been so guilty for eating a donut. Actually, I didn’t ever eat them. They were off limits and deemed a “bad” food.
The reasons we crave those foods we label as “bad” is because we deny ourselves from the things we love!
We are all just big kids. Tell us not to do or eat something, and we want it even more.
Find the balance 🤸♀️. A donut isn’t going to ruin your progress. It doesn’t make you a failure that you “gave in”. You’re an adult! Eat the damn donut if you want one 👏🏼.

New Month - New Mindset!
Are you a planner? Or kind of just like to ride the wave and see what happens?
Listen, I'm a Sagittarius to a T. I hate being tied down to anything that doesn't serve me. I hate plans, but love last minute adventures. And I typically jump before there are any real thoughts on where I am landing.
But I do know how important it is to set intentional plans. Because guess what - life isn't slowing down for you to get your $hit together.
The top of each month I take a little time to plan what my focus is:
- Do I have any huge projects that are going to take up a lot of my time?
- Is there something I've been wanting to do and keep putting off?
- What adventures am I taking this month?
- Is there anything new I can incorporate into my day to day?
- Spring cleaning?
- What self care am I adding in?
- What tiny goal can I set for myself?
Speaking for myself here, but the moment I stopped saying "I'm a procrastinator and I hate planning," I could feel the stress melt away.
I used to avoid the feeling of stability. I hated feeling structured because my life was always so messy.
So I leaned in to that discomfort, and did the exact thing I had been avoiding.
Stop wishing for your life to change. Sitting on the couch. Scrolling through your phone. Watching hours of tv..... all of those things are okay sporadically.
But if you want to actually see your life change & improve - you have got to put those plans into motion & MAKE them happen!
This month, let's set our intention to creating and celebrating NEW BEGINNINGS. You have the ability every single day to change your story and create a new path. You just need to be brave enough to say YES!
What's something you're working towards or looking forward to this month?!?
I wish I could say that I'm completely recovered and that I don't think about it anymore.... but it's probably something I'll hold with me for life.
She's a part of me. A reminder of a tragedy that turned into the most beautiful attest to strength. A piece of my past that I wouldn't change for anything because I now get to spread awareness and a safe space on such a taboo subject.
It's been a minute since I've touched on this, but a client of mine asked how it feels to not think about my body anymore... and that is so far from the truth.
The first time I got my hands on diet pills, I was 13 years old.
The last time I purged my food intentionally, I was 28.
{15 years of abusing my body, starving it, talking like an as***le, ruining my body & life}
I spent half my life at war with my body. It was revolved around counting every calorie, exercising every second I got, and constantly thinking I wasn't good enough.
After years of living a constant nightmare in my head, you don't just forget about it. But you do become aware & conscious of your thoughts & actions.
Are there times I catch myself saying something s**tty about my body? Abso-fu@king-lutely. But I've learned how to flip the script.
"My body is mine, and mine alone. I'm the only one who gets to define how I look, how I feel, and how I live my life."
Are there times where my mind starts to say "you don't need to eat that," and I shut that voice up REAL quick 🤣, yes. But then I remember that food is just food, and what is life if we're not enjoying it!
We don't just forget our past traumas and experiences, but we can certainly learn from them & grow stronger.
I want my body to be the least important thing about me. I don't care that I can feel a roll on my body that I used to think shouldn't be there. I embrace any cellulite. And I absolutely don't care what the scale says.... because she cannot define FIERCE, STRONG, INDEPENDENT, FUNNY, TALENTED and BEAUTIFUL. Only I can 💪🥰
All bodies are absolutely beautiful!!!! Make sure to remind yourself that, and often ❤️
What's your absolute favorite thing that your body can do?! Mine is being able to play at a jungle gym like a kid 🤸
Can you do something for me?
Okay, it's not for me, it's for you 😉. But I need you to promise yourself something.
Please stop telling yourself that you're a failure. If you're doing the absolute best that you can, what are you failing at?
Life isn't a race....
Loosing the weight.
Getting the promotion.
Having the family.
Traveling around the world.
Hell, just having time to clean your home 😜.
What's the rush? Because remember, once you hit one goal or life milestone.... you'll still be looking for the next thing.
Your life is all about perspective, and if you're constantly telling yourself you are behind, or failing, or not doing enough, then you absolutely will never be enough.
🧘♀️Take a deep breath in..... exhale out on a 3 count... and listen closely.
You need to remind yourself of what matters most, and remind yourself often. What truly brings you happiness? What fuels your fire? What keeps you going?
Happiness doesn't just magically appear at the end goal. Happiness needs to be a part of your whole entire journey. How do you expect life to hand you what you're asking for if you don't even believe it?
💕 You are not behind, you're exactly where you are meant to be.
Stop self-sabotaging your efforts just because you haven't gotten somewhere as fast as you'd like.
Keep pushing forward!
Keep believing that it's possible!
And remind yourself often just how badass you are 😘.

The internet is FILLED with quick fixes and magic pills! And I'm sorry to break it to you, but it's all a bunch of bu****it.
🔸If it were easy to lose weight, our country wouldn't have an obesity problem.
🔸If it were easy to lose weight, we wouldn't find ourselves in a spiral of disordered eating.
🔸If it were easy, there wouldn't be billions of dollars being spent each year on diet products.
When I first start working with my Redefining Female Strong Group or 1:1 Nutrition Clients, I tell them straight up that my Program is NOT a quick fix. You probably won't see a dramatic change in the beginning.
WHY?
Because I want you to learn about all the things that WILL get you out of this yo-yo cycle.
Things that really matter when it comes to weight loss:
- Sleep
- Stress
- Hydration
- Hormonal Imbalances

- Understanding your hunger & fullness cues

After almost 10 years of working 6-7 days a week (okay I still basically do, but it’s for myself now 🙏🏼) I got to wake up this morning and lead the Redefining Female Strong ladies through their weekly workshop. I added these workshops this round as extra accountability, extra motivation, but also as education.
Even though this program is completely virtual, I want them to get the most education they possibility can, and that means face to face time within their programming each week.
I have tears in my eyes that I GET to do this every week. I’ve worked my ass off to get here.... and I’d be lying if I said I have my s**t together. It’s a daily learning process. But I’m so thankful and beyond grateful 🙏🏼.

🔊 How you spend your time shows what really matters to you.
I don't know about you, but just hearing that sentence makes me think.... "damn girl, that's harsh."
So what if I want to binge Netflix tonight. So what if I want to scroll on Instagram for an hour or two. So what if I go out with friends tonight, and wake up too hungover to workout like I had planned. So what if I want put off what I NEED to do for what I WANT to do?
Listen, I am alllll for breaking the rules and getting off course every now and then! Life doesn't need to be so hard and rigid, we should all be more spontaneous more often....
But if you have a goal you're trying to reach, your priorities should have more space than your excuses.
Sometimes parts of your life may need to take a backseat so you can focus on what matters most.
I used to struggle so hard saying no. I had always been the YES girl. Yes, I'll gladly take on another project! Yes, I can work on this for you instead of my own work. Yes, I can go out tonight (even though I know I shouldn't). Yes, I can talk on the phone now (even though I was about to do what I needed to do, but it can wait). Yes, I’ll have another slice of pizza even though I’m stuffed 🤪.
Being the YES girl isn't always cute.
Being the YES girl means that you're saying NO to you.
And saying no to yourself means that your hopes and dreams are being pushed aside for someone or something else.
How you spend your time shows what really matters to you.
Create that boundary for yourself and start saying no more often when you know deep down that saying yes is only going to add more stress into your life.
It's not selfish, it's necessary!!!

Our lives are shaped around the habits we've built for ourselves and the daily decisions we make.
You have the choice to change your story every single day.
Every single day you can wake up and decide to do something just a little bit differently.
Yet, we like to remain in a safe space without discomforts. Which means we'd rather stay the same than allow the space for new things.
We would much rather have a quick fix because that means less work, than actually working on building a habit that WORKS.
Things as simple as:
* Taking the 5 minutes to cook oatmeal vs pouring yourself a bowl of cereal
* Getting off the subway two stops early to walk to your route and get in extra steps
* Reading a book instead of turning on the tv
* Meal prepping on your days off so you're less likely to order in when you're busy
* Journaling out your thoughts & feelings vs taking out your stress on yourself & others
* Meditating for 5 minutes first thing in the morning vs scrolling on our phone for an hour
Building habits don't have to be hard. You make them hard.
If I can offer you any advice, start small. We can't change our whole world in a day, in a week, in a year. It takes small tiny conscious decisions to change even the smallest habit, because the majority of what we do every single day is subconscious.
📋 Make a list of all those things that you have been "wanting to change" and then choose ONE thing to work on for at least a month. There's no need to rush the process. Life is all about figuring out WHO you are and WHAT you enjoy doing. And that's something that we shouldn't try and rush.
So what is one small tiny habit you can start implementing into your every day that you just KNOW is going to make you happier, more aligned, less stressed?
It's the tiny little things we do every single day that lead up to the biggest rewards. Nothing in life that is great comes easily. We have to work for it, and prove that we want it.
Habits are hard to make & even harder to break, but it's totally possible!
It's your life boo. But I know you don't want to be known for making excuses 😘.
