Big day yesterday. My second daughter had some great news, no, nothing related to kids, but pretty amazing. More on that another day. The personal good news is that my brain function has returned to normal levels following a lot of work, fantastic doctors and my trusty CPAP machine. There had been concerns that I was showing symptoms of possible dimensia. In 2019 we found a bit of brain damage I have had since birth. It showed up after I tripped over and bumped my head. Some loss of memory was also realised. This indicates ongoing damage. Mini strokes in the weakened area. No change in my personality as it was in an area more affecting memory. My brain remains plastic enough to keep repairing itself, but high blood pressure events during sleep apnoea were gaining on my ability to stay up with the damage. Enter my CPAP machine and a continuous monitoring of my blood pressure and getting my medicines right. This has slowed the damage or even stopped it. My memory function seems to have recovered to its old self. Yesterday I did a standard test to discover if there were any symptom of anything sinister. I’m happy to say that with a lot of testing I scored 99 out of 100. Seems I’m here to stay for a bit longer. So; damage negated, brain function improved, confusion not apparent and and no more long term memory loss, it seems I’m good to go for another few years. My Atrial Fibrillation is also held at bay and I am in regular sinus rhythm. Everything is geared up the hold back the tide. I can’t do it forever, but I can hold it back for a few more decades with luck. As for my daughters good news, give it a few more weeks. It’s a great day with lots of good news.

First up; I’m okay. Nothing broken. My thick bones still refuse to break. My foot fell through the broken piece of wood and I fell to the right. That should have resulted in a broken leg just above the ankle. My mind snapped into high speed as I fell realising that I would break a bone if my leg went horizontal to the ground. I had to stop that by using my arm to break the fall. So, no broken bones but a badly wrenched shoulder - purely muscular - and a sore ankle. Skin grazed and several layer torn off, but nothing broken. Thick bones, seriously. It was the leg with the knee replacement but no injury there. It’s a funny thing to say, but I’m glad it was me as others may not have been so fortunate. My daughter is 8 months pregnant and she is here all the time. I’m getting the lumber today to repair the ramp.
