It's My Birthday! ! Help Me Bring Shiva Home! 💜🙏📿 - https://mailchi.mp/b06714de3106/bringshivahome
Happy Navratri Day 4: Maa Kushmanda. Creator of the world. She was said to create with her smile. How beautiful of a reminder what power a smile has. Who knows whose day you might brighten or soften with a smile. I don't take it lightly!
I hope to bring smiles and open hearts with Help Bring Nataraj HOME! Build a Temple Fundraiser Next year we will celebrate 9 nights of Navratri in the temple! I can't wait. My birthday is less than a week away.... the fundraiser is not making many moves... I want to make this happen so badly, but I can't without you! You will most definitely make me smile with your donation! :)
Happy Navratri night #2 BRAHMACHARINI Spiritually devoted, Incredibly serious about her practice bringing much tapasya. She wanted to be worthy of Lord Shiva. She wore all white. I had a period of 4 years where I wore all white and had practices I did every day that really brought me to a clearer, more open hearted and connected to the divine being. I understand Brahmacharini
My birthday is just 8 days away as I continue to raise money for the temple for Lord Shiva and many forms of the Divine Goddess. Please offer your support if you can! It's my birthday wish! :)
As autumn leaves begin to fall, millions across India and beyond celebrate Navaratri - nine nights honoring the fierce yet compassionate goddess Durga. Astride her tiger, wielding weapons in her many arms, Durga embodies strength, courage and protection.
Yet her power stems not from aggression, but from an unwavering commitment to dharma - cosmic order and righteousness. Durga reminds us that true strength comes from within - from aligning ourselves with higher purpose and confronting life's challenges with grace.
This Navaratri, let us invoke Durga's spirit in our own lives. May we face our fears, stand up for justice, and nurture the divine spark within ourselves and others. Like the goddess herself, we all have the power to triumph over darkness and bring more light into the world.
Tonight is night #1 Shailaptri. Daughter of the Himalyas. Nature. Completeness. The Muladhara Chakra.
I look forward to celebrating these auspicious holidays with you in the temple here. Please take a moment to donate if you can!
At my old house, the first room I finished was a small office I gave up to be my own personal temple room. I was serving at a temple at the ashram, but I felt there needed to be a place for praying, meditating, singing, chanting and even sharing some pujas and classes with others via the internet during covid. I am dedicated to bringing others more peace, contentment, love and connection to the Divine. I am eagerly waiting to bring the 6 foot Shiva Nataraja to my MUCH larger temple space here! Plenty of space for many people to join in. I have helped create numerous sacred spaces and I can't wait to create this one for you! Please help me bring Shiva Nataraja home! Your support can be offered below!
Looking for an old or even broken Harmonium to take off your hands! Or old and cheap. My beloved and I want to learn how to fix even more on these beautiful instruments so we can be of service to others. I can do some things but want to do more as it seems there is a need and rarely a person nearby that can help!
I can't believe I survived the gauntlet of the past 3 weeks! It has been a doozy! I had 12 exams. End of the quarter exams, next level clinic exams, graduation exams, school screwed up my transfer and I needed to test out of classes exams..several of these exams were nearly impossible to pass...I was one of the lucky ones who did.. and to top it off, I got COVID in the middle of it. I just finished up this insanity yesterday.... I made it through. I WILL GRADUATE IN DECEMBER.... and I couldn't be more excited. So besides building a temple and fundraising... I am doing this, I am graduating, I am building walls for my treatment rooms and building out the rest of the Bhakti Spirit Yoga, Acupuncture and Wellness center... I am painting and building things and creating websites and finding software for patient records.... the list is endless... and it's all moving along!
Every detail of the Temple it deeply thought out. Today, trying various incense since the ethical, all natural, sandalwood I had burned for years at the Yurt no longer exists. Working hard to make this a reality. Please help me by offering a donation. It's been days since we have had one but the work continues. Help build a place of connection, love, introspection, prayer and the DIVINE!
This beautiful and large Shivalingam was donated to the Temple! I had been dreaming of one for the temple and I kid you not, it soon appeared in my hands. This is another form of Shiva, the formless. Pujas called Abishekam will be offered to this Shivalingam. An abishekam is where there is water and milk and ashes and such that are poured over the lingam in a puja bath. He will then be decorated with all the fixings. I offered abishekams like this 2x a week for over 5 years and usually monthly before that for another 3. Mantras are chanted for 40 minutes nonstop. There are flowers and incense and so bells and so much more! I love offering these ceremonies that bring us closer to the divine, help us open our hearts and be fully present in the NOW. Help me build this temple! You can do so in my feed!
If you are wondering what I am doing opening a temple... I was lead caretaker and pujari of this beautiful Shiva Nataraj at an ashram for 5 years. I had trained several years before stepping in to full time caretaker from the man who had done it for 27 years. We had many pujas. Shivaratri, Guru, Pradosham, Navaratri, Ganesha, Murugan, Durga and more. Sometimes it meant being there at dawn, sometimes noon, sunset or at 3am. It meant cleaning, the temple several times a week, cleaning and dressing Lord Shiva, gathering flowers from the store an hour away or picking wildflowers. It took up to 20 hours of my week at times. I was offered food in exchange, but it was not a paid gig. I love this Lord Nataraj so much, I just want to continue the work I did there. Offering mantras, insence, flames, food... learning so much Sanskrit. So this temple is a labor of love. It offers peace and a place of love for others to visit. It offers a place for hearts to open and tears to fall. It offers connection and remembrance. Help me create a beautiful space for all
As I begin to create my schedule offerings of acupuncture, mantra, puja, classes and workshops... I wonder... when do people want to come to an acupuncture appointment? What days and times? (or if you aren't into acupuncture, imagine when you would like to go to a massage or doctor's appointment)
If you were considering stopping by.. Here's $10 off! Tuesdays all day and Friday until 1pm in Tyson's Corner. Must ask for me!
Does anyone have experience setting up a religious organization? I am considering it with the new temple build out happening soon in MD…. or do know of someone you could point me to that could answer questions or help me out? Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Is anyone interested in a Yoga Sutras 10 week class? I have been having so much fun informally sharing these gems lately and wondering if anyone out there wanted something formal in person on Sundays in DC or Online (not on Sunday)?
