The Voting Rights Project is a national effort by American Values First to protect eligible voters' Waiting to fight back until it’s too late is not an option.
Under the guise of preventing voter fraud, legislation has been introduced to make it harder to vote. Fighting back swiftly and aggressively is the only way to put a halt to these devious and covert plans. American Values First has launched a 50-state, nonpartisan effort – the Voting Rights Project - to kill bad legislation and prevent bad policy from gaining momentum at the local, state and natio
nal levels. That requires organizing early in the legislative and policy process. This 50-state Voting Rights Project has created an aggressive agenda that will promote state-based legislation, referenda and policies that expand voting rights, while also working to defeat efforts that make it harder to vote. It will also recognize legislators and public officials who advocate on behalf of voting rights, while exposing officials and rightwing funders who seek to reduce voting rights. We will likewise serve as an information clearinghouse for national stakeholders and partners regarding legislation, referenda and policies that reduce and otherwise suppress the right to vote.
