The palate is rich and bold, showing depth and concentration. Flavours of dark cherry, raspberry jam, blueberry liquor, dark chocolate, vanilla and chewy to***co leaves are well melted together to bring a now homogenous wine, hitting its peak. The finish is very impressive and long, offering white pepper, oak spices and lengthy soft tannins. These kinds of well-rounded wines are not usually available at this price point. Very impressive."

“10 years ago (after working in the industry for 13 years), I decided to fully immerse myself in Niagara Wine Country. Together with my business partner Lou Puglisi we purchased a 75 year old pear orchard in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Lou said it would be the perfect spot for Sauvignon Blanc. Our first vintage of Burnt Ship Bay Estate Winery Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Merlot was 2013. Our first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc from the new vineyard was 2016. The vines were three years old and we might have cropped it a bit heavy. It got people’s attention right away and we knew that this vineyard (Corus Vineyard) would hold a lot of potential. Every year the quality is getting better and better, no matter what the conditions are.
Here is what I didn’t expect: today I found a bottle of 2016 and…. the colour has barely changed and the wine is still vibrant on the nose and palate, still displaying lots of fruit! Priced to be an every day drinking wine.” - Marcel Morgenstern, Proprietor.
