It was dark and cold when I left but I was warm and bright returning. 10 miles and yet I feel pretty good. Wow. That doesn’t seem like a sick person, does it?! I think I can safely say I am MUCH healthier than I was a year ago! Mississippi Blues, I’m coming for you.
My whole body aches at the moment but that was SO good. I started out with this headache that has plagued me for a few days, but I realized around mile 5 it was gone. I ran it out, and now I feel great! Days like today make me wonder why I ever fall out of running longer miles. The runner’s high is in full swing!
8 miles done that was supposed to happen over the weekend. Tough for me but I did it. It feels awesome today too!

An funny fall pic to go with my first October run for 2021! I am ahead of schedule on my training so I scaled back a mile this morning! Now I’m about to get ready to head to Arkansas to get my boy flying in from Kenya, Africa. What a blessed life we live! Happy Saturday!
I took it slow and easy this morning. I have missed early morning runs that start in the dark and finish with the sun fully out. It’s peaceful and calming. It’s been a while since I’ve done 8 miles. So thankful I’m able again.

The dreaded treadmill run this morning! I hate the dreadmill but I’m happy about the miles!
Light sprinkles. Windy. Weather coming and the roads pretty empty. Perfect running weather. Good run. Despite obstacles, I still did it today. 🙌🏻
My sister and I ran on the Rez trails this morning in Flowood. It was a great morning! I went slow and easy but finished 6 miles! I’m grateful!
I’ve always compared running to my spiritual journey. Well I’m not the first one, because Paul compared it in scripture also. Due to chronic inflammatory issues and post covid issues, I feel as if I’m a new runner in a way. Not completely though, because it’s all coming back to me relatively easy, but it’s still super hard at times. Today was one of those days. But as I remembered the scripture that says we “ press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”, I was reminded to keep pressing. I was weak this morning and hungry, but despite that I pressed on, and I’m glad I reached the goal.
Still praying for Afghanistan today, and all the people suffering with covid.
I’m happy to be able to run a 5k again!
This sweet child has asked me to help her get healthy and fit before fall soccer tryouts, so we began with a half mile of walking and half mile running earlier. We will increase in this as she can. I love being her mama and I love being her cheerleader!
We are in Hattiesburg, MS for a mission trip with our church youth and the three of us got up to run together, along with a few others. They were faster. I was just glad to get two miles in!

Got in the mile to keep my streak. Got it in at night yesterday. Slow in this heat but detoxing is great!
I’m so far off from living up to this Instagram name right now (avid runner) that I deem myself unfit and unworthy to uphold the title. Chronic illness is a monster, but I’m working through it. I know goals move me forward, so here’s my goal right now. It’s June 1st, so the goal is to run at least one mile for every day of June. Small steps. That’s what it takes and I know that. Today starts the streak! 1st day done!✅

I’m happy about tonight’s run. It felt amazing!
Thanks Mel for the run. Foot feeling pretty ok right now. Felt great!
I’m in the middle of a two month relay race and took yesterday off from running due to this inflamed foot. This is my team! They are warriors and have been great getting to know better. We are More MS Coffee Runners. I put in 4 miles so far today and so far, so good!
I do prefer mornings but there’s something magical about running at night. I’m having a foot issue and a sweet friend gave me some gel to try. I do believe it helped. I decided to keep the miles shorter but I ran my best 3 miles in quite a while. I even had negative splits. I’m happy to see improvement!
Not originally intending to do this, I’ve already almost reached 100 miles for the month of July, and this is only recording from July 15. Funny how a race can do that when it’s miles only that matters. This is walking and running though but more running than walking.
Don’t know if it’s the diet lifestyle I’m following or what but something is making me stronger. I ran at lunch today and I didn’t feel like dying. I felt as though I was trying to go a snail’s pace to finish and yet that pace was unobtainable for me when I started back running a month or so ago.
