Q+Brew is a competitive BBQ team made up of three long, long time friends that share a passion for great slow-smoked, Southern BBQ style food.
A couple years ago we took our backyard BBQ hobby to a new level by becoming certified BBQ judges through the Canadian Southern Bar-B-Q Association. After judging a few competitions, meeting some of the participants and thoroughly enjoying the entire experience we decided to try our hand in the competitions. We managed 3rd place in chicken and 6th overall at our first ever competition that took pl
ace in early June, 2014. Smoked to the Bone at the end of August 2014 was our second competition and we are very proud to say our chicken took 3rd place again and this time we managed to place 3rd overall in a tiebreak for 2nd! In June 2015 we competed in our 3rd event, back to the Orleans Amateur BBQ Championship. This time we grabbed 3rd in Chicken and 4th in Ribs (which was a 3 way tie for 2nd). Those results put us 9 points ahead of everyone else for the Grand Championship! We finished off the season with a really fun trip to Laval where we learned a lot and then had a mediocre showing at Smoked to the Bone.
2016 marked the end of the CSBBQA and the end of the amateur circuit. We were sad to see it go but are now looking forward to the challenge of competing in pro events. We brought on a new team member in Craig Peach who has excellent culinary skills and a finely tuned palate. We also are proud to be competing at the Fatboys Classic as our first KCBS event Aug 6-7. The true sense of community and camaraderie is unmatched compared to anything else we've experienced, combine that with some amazing food and it's not surprising that there are so many smiles.

So Long hiatus from competing and posting. A few changes have happened to the team. We will be back competing at some point soon. I have found some spare time, So who would like a basic BBQ/Smoking instructional video? If so what? Most requested wins.
