The American Library Association has a review magazine that is sent out to all libraries, and we all know librarians are the epicentre of the literary world.

This was their review of
SISTERS OF BELFAST!

I'm not sure what puts me over the moon more: the way they call me "Maure" (like I'm a literary spy) or the fact that my work has been compared to whose novel Before We Were Yours is stunning. Such an honour.

Prior to a first coaching conversation with a brilliant young woman, she emailed, curious about my coaching approach or methodology.

My inner critic grabbed the mic. “You’ve got to tell her about all your years as a psychotherapist, a somatic therapist, about your Gateless training. You’ll be legit.”

I removed the mic from Estelle’s sweaty, fretful hand (Estelle is my cantankerous inner critic, whom I love) and took a breath, then replied from the soul.

Alongside this outward reaching and public promoting, there comes a great deal of inward rooting, centring, and effort to remain clear.

I am blessed with a herd of women who work behind the scenes...of the book and of me. None of this happens as a solo mission.

Just as the characters of this novel are faced with calls to courage and authenticity, soul searching and accepting help in times of crippling self-doubt, so too am I.

I love the characters in this book, each and everyone, with all my heart. So much so, that I am willing to do the inner work it takes to go out of my comfort zone and be public, speak aloud, and be seen so that YOU, sweet reader, might have the chance to fall in love with the McGuire twins and all of their people.
Maybe even Sister Edel??

I have a habit, a practice. It is a fruitful one.

I make space for what I dream of. I create prototypes and images of what is in my creative heart.

In this case, I made physical space on my bookshelf for MY book...before it was a book. I gave it a place, a name tag, a reservation, if you will.

I was sure to place it among my beloved authors so as to be held, infused, and encouraged by their literary greatness and service to the world.
