Message for Friday, 9th March – Angel of Love
This card I feel speaks of self-love today. The Angel of Love card is a reminder to all, especially women, the importance of loving and respecting ourselves. Women as natural nurturers and because of upbringing due to gender stereotypes, have often put themselves last for the sake of their children and or husbands/partners. You could say, we’ve sacrificed ourselves for others. Self-love is not something to be ashamed of and it doesn’t make you selfish. A person who practices self-love is a person who knows that they are just as important as anyone else - they are empowered. They nurture themselves with alone time, play time and do what they love – they know when they need a break and they take it. They are not afraid to speak their truth, knowing that their voice is just as important as anyone else’s and needs to be heard. Those who love themselves, know that they are better people for being kind to themselves. It means they can give lovingly from a full cup instead of an empty one full of resentment, tiredness and stress. It means they will not accept behaviour that disrespects or belittles them in any way. It means they do not allow themselves to be treated unfairly, unkindly or bullied. A person who loves themselves will make the right decisions for themselves and others, not for everyone else but themselves. Those who love themselves understand and accept their flaws as well as their good traits. If you’re not loving yourself, you are not only doing a disservice to yourself but to your children and society as a whole, because what we allow, continues. Your children learn through example. Every time you don’t take care of yourself, you feed them with the belief “it’s okay to put everyone else before me”. You deserve love, we all do and that starts with loving yourself. And the more you do, the more you will attract people into your life who will give you the love and respect you deserve. God bless for a beautiful day – Jen xo
