Works by splicing into the wire for the oil pressure idiot light. When the oil gets to hot it will make the oil idiot light blink on. It stops blinking when the oil temps come down.

Berg also offered an oil dip stick with the same feature.

Day 3, first checkpoint.

Some days just don’t go the way you want them too! Just finished our 200 mile drive for day two. Needless to say we are beat is an understatement. Decided to not do a burnout, not smart! Staged car, spun tires all through first and start grabbing gears…….until there weren’t any! Shift from 3 to 4 and I got nothing, stuck in neutral. Coast as far as I can down the return road, somehow get it to go into first and get back to my pit. Shifter just goes in circles. Pull engine, trans and find broken hockey stick. This is one that I welded gussets to prob 30 years ago. Will investigate what could have happened later. Pull nose cone off spare trans and put it all back together. We leave the track at 6:10pm and make the drive to Gainesville. See what happens tomorrow.
