Let's view life through eyes that can see potential, and reCreate whatever we can both in our lives
I Grieve:
I grieve for all of them.
The hurt.
The hungry.
The lonely.
The abused.
I grieve for the hope they never knew.
I grieve for the child
who grows up experiencing hate,
I grieve for the teen
who believes they are second rate.
And for the mother
who lacks the tools she needs,
For those who are hurting,
and those who bleed.
I grieve for those
who were told they weren’t enough,
For those who live life
from handcuff to handcuff.
I grieve for the men
who feel they can’t be real
that bear wounds
they fear will never heal
Those who never reveal their true heart
Because they are too busy playing a prescribed part.
I grieve for the women
who cease dreaming
Who climb the ladder,
only to hit the ceiling,
Those who deal with constant demeaning.
And those for whom life and loss have left reeling.
I grieve for the children that are empty in their heart and soul
to whom living is a luxury and survival is all they know
For those whom poverty and crime, a childhood steals
On back streets watching gang fights and drug deals
There’s a thousand more stories,
of pain, of fears, of worries.
But I’m going to set hope free, on paper wings,
Into a world where through tears the brave still sing.
No storms last forever,
the sun still shines!
You are my brother, my sister, and I need you in my life.
So I will fight, when you need to rest.
You just must commit to always try your best.
Believe there is a solution, and a solution will be made.
Love is, in fact, stronger than hate.
You are beautiful. You are brave.
Your heart is valuable, and together we will make a way.
TOGETHER we WILL make a way.
