What a great weekend it was at the Pumpkin Carving Party!

When he's not in the office, you can find BCM Partner, Franco Piscitelli, out on the soccer field, coaching his son and teammates! See what he has to say below on the joys of being a soccer coach and the impact he can make on young players!

“When I’m not working on my client’s retirement and investment strategies, I’m strategizing how to best line up my 10- and 11-year-old soccer players on the field! I have the pleasure of coaching my son’s U12 soccer team in Haddam/Killingworth. I’ve been coaching this same team of players for several years now, and it’s been a joy to watch them grow over that time. As a coach at this level, it’s important not to focus on winning, but improving as soccer players. Our focus as a team is to be a competitor, good teammate and sportsman, and getting good at the basics of soccer, and working hard for your teammates. I’m a big soccer nut, so I try to transfer my passion to the players. I try to make every player feel like they can be the next big soccer star. I have a lot of kids on my team, so I make sure that everyone is involved and contributes. There isn’t a player that scores all our goals. Everyone is asked to do a job and participate. I don’t want to leave anyone out. From our least skilled player to best skilled, everyone has a role. To start our season, this team won their Boys U12 bracket at the Madison Invitational Soccer Tournament which they were very excited about. The best part of the weekend was watching the boys having fun together in between matches playing card games, video games and eating snacks. BCM is proud to sponsor the HK Soccer club!”
