With Christy working and TaterBug on a field trip with the BCA History club, it seemed like the perfect time for me to go coastal. I was able to team up with team Dasco with Dewayne, Julie and Strawberry and fish the bone sucking sauce king mackerel tournament at Morehead City this weekend. The weather was great and the fishing was too. We had multiple hook ups some of them made it in the fish bag some of them live to fight another day. At the end of the day we brought a king mackerel to the scales and a cobia to the dinner table. Thanks to team Dasco for letting me tagalong.

Another one is in the books for Salty Daze. The Got Em on King Classic is in the books. Day one started off with multiple kings for us, but not the big one. So on day two we went looking for an up grade and did get one. Although it wasn’t a winner, anytime you can leave the dock with a plan and accomplish that plan, you return a winner. Super proud of our crew. As always they performed great. We have two young and up coming anglers who add strength to the team. The weather was great and it allowed us to travel a great distance in search of the big one. We didn’t find her this time but we will continue until we do find her. This is all possible by Anglers Marine NC, Ocean Isle Marina, , , , and , along with good friends. Thanks to everyone. We look forward to seeing y’all at the next one.

Love our little lady angler!

Check out this beautiful “little lady”, sporting her Diamond stud earrings, from Perry's Emporium! Ms Logan Staley won these for being our top Junior “little lady” Angler. We are so proud of Logan and her commitment to Kingfishing- can’t wait to see what the future holds for her

Wow. What can I say to describe this weekend’s Carolina beach East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Tournament. Day one was a good day for Salty Daze, but when I got the hand signal for day two, I knew it was going to be a great day. God is awesome and the praying hands hand sign was what we needed. So that’s exactly what we did, said a prayer. And look what God did….Salty Daze had an amazing weekend, where everything just came together. The crew did an outstanding job of working together and everyone doing their part to land what would be the 7th place fish out of 207 teams. Christy, took home 1st place Southern Kingfish Association Lady angler, and 2nd place overall Lady angler, and the TaterBug, Logan, took home 2nd place Jr angler. Everyone got to fight fish and enjoy being on the water together. I can’t thank Jeremy of JB custom rods enough, for the awesome new custom king mackerel rods, that were nothing short of amazing. They are super strong but have a soft live bait tip, which adds to being able to keep just the right amount of tension on the fish, but not to much. The rods were mated up with a Brant McMullan suggested Daiwa Saltist 40h, available at OIFC. 😂. Together they were the total package. The 31T Cape Horn that Wes and the Anglers Marine team provided for us is a true beast in the ocean. The twin 300 Yamaha engines gave us power to plow through or skip over any wave that was willing to meet us head on. The sea conditions were less than ideal, but having the right equipment makes the task at hand achievable. As always Tim and The Ocean Isle Marina Crew, make it all possible by allowing us a great place to keep our boat. They are always going above and beyond to accommodate anything that we may need. Thanks to Donna and crew along with everyone that competed and made this tournament possible.
