Hello friends,
Our good friend Liza Naran Nagle is a self-employed house cleaner in Florida. Her hard work over the decades has taken a physical toll and forced her to have spinal surgery. As with many of us who are self-employed, Liza has little to fall back on during her convalescence over the next couple months. Her friends have set up a Gofundme to allow her to keep the lights on, pay the rent and eat healthy food during her post-surgery time of healing.
Please consider a donation of any size to help our friend get through this tough time.
It is a sad system within which we operate in America, but it is the system we have and many times it relies on altruistic generosity. This is one of those times.
Please help Liza if you can. She is one of the finest people I know.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow had lost his beloved wife 2 years prior to writing the words that follow here when her dress had caught fire and she had died in his arms as a result of her burns. Henry had also been so badly burned he was unable to attend her funeral and his growing despair became so great he considered committing himself to an asylum. His agony was compounded by the horrors of the American Civil War which was raging at the time and Henry was feeling hopeless and overwhelmed as a widower raising five children in war torn America. The absence of his wife had him sleepless and miserable in the predawn hours on Christmas Day and yet, as the night slowly gave way to morning, the church bells in his town began pealing out their joy of the holiday. Hearing this, Henry found his spirits lifted with the realization that even when things are at their darkest, there is always the potential for light and within that light is the undeniable affirmation of life.
The following verses speak to us even now as our world and nation are teeming with war, loss, and hatred. My wish is that in our own dark moments we may find the light within ourselves and have the courage and determination to share it. In so doing, and with each inspired act of kindness, we have the potential to bring peace and illumination to this dangerous world.
Wishing you all peace, light, joy and inspiration during this holiday season.
