Here is your guide on how to study Math...
Goodluck...
Know the Basics
Math is a subject that builds on itself. Without a strong foundation, you will only be left behind. Thus, hone your basics. Start from scratch, if necessary. If you need to revisit high school math while in university, then so be it!
1. Write clear & concise notes. Unlike biology, you don't need pages of theory. Limit being overwhelmed and write only what you need.
2. Incorporate various examples within your notes. Work through math problems in conjunction with theory to help you understand theory better.
3. Make cheat sheets. Include facts, properties, functions, laws, rules, notations, examples and common errors whenever you see fit."]
Applying Theory
You can not study for math. You have to DO math. Math is a subject of pattern recognition. It follows rules and requires steps (algorithms). Some algorithms are simple while others are hard. Thus, familiarize yourself with various math problems.
1. Do problem after problem after problem. Assume that you won't get the correct answer the first 3-4 times before you get it right. Do not be discouraged by wrong answers. Every wrong answer is the path to the right answer.
2. Once you have the basics completed, continue to work on harder problems.
6 FREE Websites for Learning Math Online Here are 6 awesome websites that you can use to learn math.
1. Khan Academy
2. Math Planet
3. Wolfram Mathworld
4. EdX
5. Desmos
6. Youtube Channels
Studying for Tests
1. Start early. Practice problems take a lot longer to do than you think. Math is not a subject you can memorize.
2. Do the problems you skipped during homework session and re-do hard practice problems. Break down complex problems into simpler steps when necessary.
3. As you move on to higher level math, mental math will make your life easier.
4. Review your notes every night leading up to test day.

One Week before the scheduled Quarterly Examination...
Ever wondered why youβre studying so much but still not acing those exams?
Here are the answers
1. Passive Studying: Merely re-reading your notes doesnβt help retention. Solution: Engage in active recall. Close your book and test yourself on what youβve just learned.
2. Constant Distractions: Multi-tasking, notifications, or numerous browser tabs can split your attention. Solution: Set up a dedicated, distraction-free study zone and allocate specific times for breaks.
3. Last-Minute Cramming: While it might feel productive, cramming only gives a superficial understanding. Solution: Opt for spaced repetition. Spread out your study sessions to reinforce memory over time.
4. Lack of Deep Understanding: Mindless memorisation can be short lived. Solution: Prioritise understanding over memorisation. Break down complex topics, ask questions, and discuss with peers or teachers until you truly grasp the subject.
5. Ineffective Study Techniques: Not all methods suit every individual. Solution: Find your learning style. Whether itβs visual aids, audios, flashcards, or group discussions, find what resonates and stick with it.
6. Remember, the key to effective studying isnβt just the quantity but the quality of time and techniques you invest.
