I see too many "traders" straying away from their bread and butter trader when the markets get a bit confused...this is actually the best time to keep hammering away and systems that have historically worked out for you...Today was a prime example of what happens when you STICK TO THE PLAN!

Traders have recently had to adjust to overall market conditions which have changed in a big way over the last 6 and 7 weeks..With the SP500 down in bear territoy and big tech getting hammered a lot of people are left clueless...why? becuase most people in the market DONT HAVE A TRADING STRATEGY!!! On the other side of things, I do, and that is why I have personally been able to surf througth this market just fine!

It is really important to understand the state of the markets so you know how to react...you'll see in the video below what is going on with the markets YTD. With that said, even though markets are gettng punished we're doing just fine. Why? because we're day trading volatility and reducing any and all exposure to over night risk!
Just becuase the markets are down, it doesnt mean that you have to be! It's super important to have a strategy that gets you throug what is going on with global markets!

I think we can all agree that driving downhill with your car in neutral is going to be exponentially easier than doing it the other way around.. driving your car uphill in neutral. That doesn't make much sense now does it?
In the past I've written about the importance of being “directionally neutral” when trading. Part of having a neutral attitude is creating what's called a hedged thesis. I've talked about this in the past and I want to elaborate on it a little bit more. I also want to share a video with you on a past trade that I put on. Share this with your fellow traders...Disciple is the crux of being a successful trader...or anything else for that matter. Discipline is the bridge between where we are and where we're trying to go! If you have it an exercise it, you'll progress. If you don't, you're stuck!
The team and I have continued to be as nimble as possible during earnings and generally because of the over all market environment. The truth is markets have been volatile and will remain volatile for the foreseeable future.

Good morning traders!!! We are entering a very active period with trading...This is arguably the BIGGEST part of earnings season!
Markets will shift, one way or another based on these over weighted beasts and how they report!
Did you know that YTD the SP500 is 12.5% as of the close today? The $QQQ was down almost 5% today while the $IWM also took it on the chin...where am I going with this? Markets are in trouble...with that said, our team is still producing triple digit trading opportunities...sub-markets are still on fire! You just need to know where to look and what to look for!

The struggle is real…and the learning curve is never ending! The best advice that I can give ANYONE…anyone that is doing anything worthy and of value…is this: Never stop being a student of your craft. In this case it's the markets and trading. Make sure that you’re always educating yourself on what it is you’re investing your time into! You’ll be grateful that you did!

When I trade I also use a "hedged thesis". This is something that I talk to the team about on a regular basis. The worst thing a trader can do, or lead with, is a "I think/bet that this stock will do... X". The best practice, IMO, is to understand key levels and what could happen at those levels is volume steps in...What do you think?
What do you do when you're tracking an opportunity and it fails to produce a tradeable situation? Do you "hunt" for other opportunities, do you sit tight and wait for your top pick to either workout or fail, or do you simply walk away and come back the following day?
