NZ Tavua FC is one of the oldest and most successful soccer teams associated with the NZ Fiji Footba In 2009, Tavua celebrated its 20th jubilee.
This proud club was established in 1989 in South Auckland by soccer loving migrants from Fiji and was originally named "The Backline Boys". Backline Boys Tavua was perhaps the only team totally comprising of Fijians playing in the local football leagues in the late 80's. ing members of the club and is now the patron of the club, has seen all the highs and lows that the club has gone through since its early days. The current President is Ashok Kumar. Tavua is managed by Ashwin Choy assisted by Dennis Nand, with Shafraz Khan and Suresh Chand providing the technical nous. Tavua is a FIVE time winner of the Inter-District Championship (IDC) tournament and are the current IDC Champions. This year Tavua will be going for a hat-trick after back to back successes in 2011 and 2012. Tavua has also won numerous Fiji FACT tournaments including a five-in-a-row streak in the first five Fiji FACT tournaments. Tavua has also had many successes in the Battle of Giant (BOG) tournaments as well.
