HAPPY DAYS!!
Buddy has been reunited with his family!
The sweet stray who was found running in traffic on 169 in Onmaia and arrived at the shelter six days ago is steadily recovering. The vet office determined the sores all over her body were caused by overzealous puppies who were physically demanding to nurse well beyond their time. Understandably, she was trying to set boundaries! (we have no info on the pups)
Her antibiotic treatment for numerous sores is nearing completion, and she is drying up nicely with no sign of mastitis. We’re diligently caring for a couple of wounds with medicated cream. This gentle soul is thriving on our extra attention and enjoys her daily hand-feeding sessions of canned food as she runs to sit at the picnic table. She is slowly gaining weight and is looking a lot healthier. She’s a delightful lass who brightens our days. ❤️
(More photos in the comments)!
This came across my feed today.
So thankful that he was ok!!

The primary function of our k9’s are to be locating tools to find hidden things or people that are evading arrest .
They can also be used to apprehend people who are resisting in such a manner that it places officers and the public at risk. K9 Bongo was recently deployed to track and locate a male suspect who was wanted on an outstanding warrant and domestic assault. The suspect had injured himself also and Deputies needed to locate him to safely take him into custody and get him the medical attention he needed.
K9 Bongo tracked and located the suspect who chose to resist and fight with officers rather than cooperate. K9 Bongo was deployed to apprehend him to assist in subduing him. The suspect assaulted K9 Bongo by punching him several times in the head during this which did not seem to phase Bongo or prevent him from doing his job. The suspect was taken into custody and Bongo seems to be doing just fine .

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Green Acres Animal Rescue for the generous gift of doggy goodies. All of it will be enjoyed by the dogs but especially the canned food will be a tremendous help to two dogs currently in our care—a thin male black lab and a severely thin mamma pitty —who both require additional caloric intake. We are deeply appreciative of your organization’s kindness and support for the animals in our community❤️ ❤️
