Around this week we get the memories when we use to travel to Premier Super Copa. This is a tourney where it is extremely hard to advance in the top divisions and win, specially for a team from KY (a non-soccer region). This proves that you dont only need the players with the proper skills+mindset but also the coach that understands top level competition. Back then we lost the championship game 0-2 in the Gold division vs FC Dallas top team.

This is something that makes me so happy and reminds me why we work hard and go around everything to make it work.

Yes Cobi, he made it work being a great leader, being the oldest, training hard, setting the example, and staying humble. We had just a few 08s, the rest were 09s and 10s and it did work! Thanks to all of the 08s, Cobi was 1!

Aimee, Michael and David, for letting me being part of it. Congratulations you all deserve it. But specially Cobi and David, waking up 5AM to workout sounds easy, but not many can do it.

Let's GO FCC!

I am so happy that I have been around Cobi and his family since 2016!

No one has any idea of what this means to me. I am not talking about wining the State trophy, because you all know how soccer is, where you can be playing your best game collectively, and there can be a small factor that can change the direction of any situation and you can be playing just poorly, but you are being the lucky charm of the year.

This means a lot to me as I felt it was the only way to thank my families, my coaches but mainly all of my kids, for them is for who I want to dedicate these past three weekends, seasons and years.
My PARENTS, they are the first ones I want to thank. They had the GUTS to support, follow and lead what we had in mind. We were told many things and they stayed with me regardless of what was going on out there. They tried to recruit them many times and still they stayed with me. So thank you so much for trusting, being loyal and staying behind my back all these years. I have no words to thank you for this.

My Coaches, thank you Daniel Brindle , Paul Harshaw , Kyle Fries and Trey Murphy you all have been part of this and helped to make us strong. My Mexican legion Alan Romo and Cuauhtemoc Valenzuela who have been by my side in every single step of this journey. My German friends and mentors David M, Robin H and Markus B, thank you for all you have done for us. Heavyn Leigh OConnell for who I just hope I have been a good guidance all these years, she is a great coach and I know she has a very bright future. And for the most important person and soccer partner, my brother Coach David O'Connell . I will not post his secrets, but if we won, was because of him. It was hard to convince him to join my craziness, because he is a great person, loyal and with great values, but he trusted that being with his family was a great reason to leave a good club. Thanks Coach David every single day I learned from you. Also in this segment I want to include my 08s, 09s, and 11s that helped and were part of this process and I will call them coaches as they taught important lessons.

To all my kids, congratulations you earned it! Yes, enjoy the moment today, but tomorrow is another day. I want you to remember this day not as the day we finished as State champion, but as the day we finished a cycle where we learned:
To be loyal, humble, honest, kind, selflessness, patient and tough.
To have integrity, determination, empathy, self-reliance, and to be thankfull with your parents, teachers and coaches.

Mainly to understand that life is not perfect, adapt fast and appreciate all what you have, if you fall- you stand up, last minute also has 60 seconds, no one can tell you " you cant, you are too small or that you are not good enough", if a coach doesn't likes you it doesn't mean you are not good, be a learning machine, dream with a time schedule and more important work harder than your competition.
LAST but not the LEAST, actually the Cherry of my cake! My Family Martinez Garza, M, J, C and specially HR1 who made CF Regios as a second generation learning from Don Agus and not only that, he is constantly helping me, last night he was still guiding me on how to play the championship game. Thanks to my GIRLS Gaby, Ana and Maya that have been very supportive being in the road, in the sun, in the cold, in the rain and in the problems, even if HR3 wasn't playing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

HR3 thank you so much for this gift! You got me into this, and you motivated me to continue. You accepted to have many brothers and not being the only one or my favorite and you didn't care to be just one more of the team, you accepted the challenge, the role and the weight of being my son. When placed on the bench you worked harder and non-stop. Last year you felt responsible of losing a SemiFinal, but you told me that you were coming back stronger and win it all, I think you did it great. Thank you for being my mentor and teaching me to be a coach and a father, you are the best in my books.

To all i want to say Let's close this chapter because the next one starts tomorrow, hoping that our new families treats me like my family does today.

Thank you God for helping me and my kids
Hector Martinez
