what a wild few months!! let’s reflect before we all get carried away with the sunshine and summer fun!
women and non-binary means so much to me, as a q***r fem-presenting non-binary student at this university, and i’ve had the most amazing first few months in this role learning and representing!
from attending the NUS Liberation conference and having a really eye-opening experience, to having the privilege of sharing an Activities Award with so many amazing networks and societies as a celebration of our ongoing work surrounding SA at university, attending my first protest for a brilliant cause, and seeing our university finally make moves towards period equality, it’s all been amazing!!
with the help of an amazing committee, WNBN are on the way to making real change, and we couldn’t be prouder!!
have the most amazing summer, UoY lot, and we’ll be back again after summer 🤍

with exams out of the way & summer right around the corner, join your WNBN committee for some coffee, cake and chats at our new Book Club!
we’re going to be running this event every month, each time with a new topic for people to talk about - this month, we’re talking Pride! 🏳️🌈
come along this Friday, bring your friends, your favourite drink, and your best Pride book, and get chatting - you may even find your new favourite book in the process!
(if that isn’t enough, there will be cakes and snacks 🥳)
now you’ve met our 22/23 committee, here’s a bit more about a few of them - their favourite book about Pride, as Pride month is coming up fast!!🏳️🌈🤍
keep your eyes peeled for information about the first of our Pride events…👀
Time to give us some feedback!
Some of you may remember my manifesto, which aimed to change the name of this network to be something more inclusive. In order to make this happen, we need some student feedback!!
Please take a look at the link in our linktree titled ‘Women and Non-Binary feedback form 2022’ and fill in the Google Form - it should take 5 minutes, and is integral to making a difference in this network!
Open to all York students!

Upon finding out that Julie Bindel will be collaborating with Free Speech Society, we felt it necessary to make it clear that we at WNBN do not condone or support the views of Bindel, or those at the society who have decided to collaborate with her repeatedly.
We are always here to support, and understand that Bindel’s views can be incredibly triggering for some, so if anyone is struggling with this happening on campus, please reach out 🤍
