Here’s my plan…. I’m going to paint up a zillion bright, tiki styled signs and post them all on my Etsy site. (Have to make an Etsy site still. lol)
When I see the prices of these kinds of signs being sold on Etsy I just freak out. I have to be a part of that money-making club.
I’m using very thick wood. Primed and painted with durable, long lasting exterior paint.

Changed up some parts of my magnifico contemporary art.

I can’t believe I’m posting these but what the hell. I’ve been following an artist who paints very abstract and thought I’d try it. These are so so very far away from being good but they were worth an evening of trying and practicing and trying something different.

I’m taking my time with this painting. I’m sure no one will buy it but that’s okay. It’s bizarre but I’m just loving the process of getting it to completion.

The colour is true in pictures 3 and 4 with the peacock blue. The paint is very thick and is raised in all areas. Even crackling.
I even signed this one because it might be worth $85 one day…lol.

Absolutely thrilled how this sign came out! I’ve posted some steps I took to get it this way including the proof I sent Leanne Wrobel. She wasn’t thrilled about the red background in the proof and I said it was going to be a ‘rusty background’. It’s very hard to send that visual to a client but I think she was happy with the outcome. I didn’t work with an existing logo, by the way, I had to come up with a design. I think this would be great on hats and T-shirt’s personally.

The hardest thing is waiting for varnish to dry when you have a million projects waiting to go. I don’t want to stir up any saw dust or dirt. And these crazy bombardier bugs who want to die in my varnish is a challenge. Note to self…. Close all doors and sweat it out in the humid, hot heat while waiting for varnish to dry. Omg.

So I posted this piece a few days ago saying how much I hated it and wanted to burn it but I kept on playing with it until it grew into something I love now. Of course the pictures suck and looks a little different in real life. I talked with a store in Lac Du Bonnet who said they would take it on consignment… unless one of you are interested, of course.
I still have to paint the insides and sides of the drawers to complete it but I really like it.
