A Big Congratulations to Angellos Glaros, this year’s Grand Prize Winner of our contest! 👏 🤩

This Blue Heron sculpture features 12g plate and over 1200 individually handcrafted feathers, each meticulously plasma cut, sanded, shaped, carved, textured, and curved. The texture on the legs was created using a combination of techniques, including a fly press, hardy tools, welding, and flap sanding. Amazing work, Angellos!

Congratulations to all our winners and a big thank you to everyone who entered! This year brought us some truly incredible submissions, and we can’t wait for our next Metal My Way contest!

Congratulations to Justin Lamoureux, this year’s winner of the Knife category. 💪

Justin crafted this dagger as a wedding gift based off a “Wheel of Time” book cover. This Cu-mai steel blade, comprised of 130 layers forged together, was ground, heat-treated, and etched to reveal its distinctive layered pattern. Stunning! 🤩

Our Grand Prize winner will be announced next, so stay tuned!

Congratulations to Noah Khoury, this year’s winner of the Furniture and Home category! 👏

Noah was commissioned to fabricate a set of sliding doors along with a hinged entry door for a wine room situated within a restaurant. Using both MIG and SMAW welding techniques, he forged a sturdy steel frame, enhancing it with forge-textured cladding for a unique ornamental touch. The artistry continued with the use of superheated bar stock that created the desired surface finish through hammer texture and deliberate overheating. Impressive work, Noah 🔥

Stay tuned for the announcement of our next winners!

Congratulations to Matthew Mitman, this year’s winner of the Industrial or Shop category! 🙌

Matthew had the idea of building a pneumatic power hammer, and after discussing the idea with a friend, they embarked on the project together. Construction involved a bandsaw and a drill press, and once finished, the power hammer functioned precisely as designed! In idle mode, the ram remains elevated and prepared for the next strike; a simple tap of the pedal delivers a single hammer blow, and releasing the pedal instantly halts any additional strikes. Amazing!

We can’t wait to announce more winners, stay tuned!

08/11/2023

Congratulations to Tim Strochine, this year’s winner of the Vehicle category! 👍

Tim constructed this remarkable Airsoft Combat Vehicle from scratch, without any plans! The main construction consists of steel angles and plates MIG-welded together, with aluminum tread plates used for the flooring. This vehicle serves a pivotal role in airsoft military simulations, serving as an armor unit. Amazing work, Tim! 🙌

Stay tuned to see the rest of the winning projects!
