Time to start some seeds🌱
🥚Egg shells are perfect little starter pots, I can write the seed name on each shell & when I’m ready to plant them out I just crack the shell & plant the whole thing!
🥚For my Girls eggs I use cardboard cartons but I hold onto a couple of these plastic ones as they’e good for camping trips & make great mini greenhouses!
Lemon blossom on the way🍋

Sun Dried Tomato Sourdough 🍅
A home for one of my homegrown Italian lemon trees🍋
🍋I’ve been nurturing these lemon trees (I have 3) since I discovered their seeds germinating inside a beautiful Italian lemon given to me when I was supporting .schuh on a photo shoot almost 3 years ago.🌱 I popped them into a pot near my front door &… 3 years later they are big enough to go in the ground. First one has found it’s home.
🍋I don’t know exactly what variety they are but they so reminded me of the first lemons I ever really tasted; incredible, large, fragrant fruit growing in terraces above the Amalfi Coast, Italy. I was 6, at the most magical wedding & I wore a gardenia in my hair🥰
Thursday night bake, for Friday morning bread!
🌿Guess who went to the Plant Sale?🪴
Sadly we had a passing in the coop: Dirty Girty, one of my 8 yr old OG Girls🐓 left us last night.
Girty was a gentle member of the flock, never “ruling the roost” or fighting with the newbies but quietly producing a beautiful brown egg almost daily! She liked her food & once her laying years were over continued to eat with gusto, first to the treats & oh she did enjoy the Christmas Brussel Sprout tree! A year ago this resulted in a trip to our vet & her rechristening Greedy Girty! Since then she was slower to get up in the morning & often needed help onto the roost at night, a stately OG.
Goodbye Gorgeous Girty🐓
