The MN ABE Summer Institute Conference, August 14 & 15, 2024 will be held as a virtual event. Apply to become a vendor for FREE!

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to participate in the virtual vendor fair during the two-day conference as well as having a webpage on the Sched App. Our participants look forward to seeing you every year to learn about your products, offerings and services. We hope that this year is no different!

Calling all consortia - we want you! You're invited to submit a slide about your consortia to our special slide show for 2024 Summer Institute.
In lieu of this year's award ceremony, we want to celebrate the whole field in the We Are ABE slide show. The slide show will celebrate highlights from every consortia so please join us and send a slide of staff photos, student action shots, quotes, a map of your service area or anything you would like recognized. Consortium managers will receive an email from the Professional Engagement Committee with more details soon!

The Summer Institute Committee is now accepting presentation proposals! Submissions for Summer Institute 2024 are due Sunday, March 31st, 2024.
There are 36 breakout sessions; 45 minutes each. You will be notified late April to early May whether your proposal has been accepted.

Our Story
LAN (Literacy Action Network) is a statewide professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, improve, and expand adult literacy services by coordinating public policy advocacy, fostering statewide collaboration, facilitating professional development, and supporting quality Adult Basic Education (ABE).
Every year, LAN, along with MCEA, hosts the the Summer Institute, Minnesota's largest adult basic education conference. 2017's Conference, Empowered Teachers Empowering Learners, will be held August 16-18 in St. Cloud, MN.
The conference works to ensure that ABE professionals around the state are aware of practices and resources available to them and offers a space to share successes and struggles with peers. Summer Institute draws approximately 500 teachers, managers and staff each year for 80 concurrent sessions, three plenary sessions, a vendor fair and numerous opportunities to network and have fun with others in the field.
The annual adult basic education Summer Institute will be held August 17-19, 2016 at the St. Cloud River's Edge Convention Center. This year's theme is ‘Partners in Progress’.
We're looking forward to another great conference and seeing you all there in August!
