Maybe it's the battle of feeling tired, no energy & fighting your digestive track on a daily basis. Maybe it's giving 110% of your VALUABLE time to everyone EXCEPT yourself & family??

Whatever it is that is keeping you from feeling awesome, healthy, whole, accountable, confident, empowered - Identify it, Be honest with yourself to admit it, close that chapter & turn the page. โœ”๏ธ

This paints an ugly picture but a harsh reality! This makes me wanna cry not laugh at what should be absurdity.

My friends, food matters! We have to teach our children healthy habits NOW or they will suffer the consequences of life threatening disease and obesity in their future.

I wish I could say I have never seen a child fighting obesity, but that is heartbreakingly not true. We have to teach our children to make healthy choices. We have to teach them moderation. We have to learn to say no, and be firm in our decisions. We have to teach them to balance wholesome foods with the treats. We have to teach them that the sugar laden foods and drinks do not fuel their bodies, and that they tiny organs are in harm's way from daily sugar overload.

Do my kids drink soda? Yes, but not everyday!! They call it a special drink, because it's not an option to them everyday. Their daily drink is water! Do my kids have Gatorade? Yes, if they have been playing sports and are drenched in sweat. It's not a substitute for soda.

Just like everything in life we have to make a choice to teach our children how to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle. We love our children and it's our job to take care of them from the inside out!

And you know what else? It starts with you. Lead by example! Those tiny eyes and ears see all and hear all. More than anything they wanna be like you. Make sure what they see and hear gives them the spring board to a healthy future!

I love this. I think this quote speaks volumes about what is holding so many of us back (ME included) from reaching for our goals. We are afraid. It's okay to not succeed at first, it's okay to fall flat on our faces, but we gotta keep getting up & trying. That is what will set us apart. We do it anyway. Let us Go & Be courageous!

I literally dig up the seeds of faith I have been planting with my own self doubt. Doubt that I am leading & fighting to better not only my life, but those who have continue to reach out to me.

?? Why can I not see the leader that others do? I can't answer that question... but I'm a continual work in progress to grow in confidence and spread my wings.

Why Wednesday...

For so long I let fear paralyze me from stepping out of my comfort zone. I let myself be put in a box to feel like I didn't have options.

These 3 beautiful smiles are the reason why I am stepping out. I no longer believe the choice isn't mine to make. I will teach my children to choose happiness, to choose joy and to step outside the box held by fear.

My daughter chose me as someone who inspires her ... Well let me say she inspires me everyday to live fully, to share, to give, to plant seeds of hope and to choose confidence!

She was about to get dressed for ballet rehearsals and decided she needed to workout first "so she could have energy for it". ๐Ÿ˜œ So she got this all set up. I guess it's her motivation to see her outfit. But before I hit play for her, she decided she needed an afternoon snack first.

What can we learn from this?

1. Working out gives you energy.

2. Use visual motivation, whatever that may be, to help push you during the workout.

3. Gotta fuel your body for your workout (maybe not with an ice cream cone though).

Couldn't pass up this opportunity to share.

My family & I will be at the softball fields minimally from 7am to 9pm tomorrow. (And mid afternoon we've got to make a soccer game)

That's a long day, so food prep is important to me.

Fresh fruits, cheese, salami, home made sausage, hummus, crackers, Doritos requested by my hubby, nuts and protein balls are all ready to load and be out the door by 6am.

I prep because I care. I prep because athletes need food that fuels them. I prep because it's our lifestyle.

Now. Will the concession stand get some of our monies, you bet. It's a ball field. But everything in moderation is a okay with me.

๐Ÿ”ท (Side note, when we buy chicken breast in bulk & freeze, we cut them into thinner pieces, season them with onion, garlic & a little chili powder, pink salt & pepper so that when defrosted, they are already seasoned ... This is why there are no spices listed in my recipe. You season to your taste)

WHY Wednesday...I'd like you to read a testimonial one of the strong women in my 5 day clean eating support group shared yesterday.
"Why....because I didn't like myself at 250..outside or inside...because I was lost inside this person who was called 'Sue', but didn't act like her! No smiles, little laughter & no sparkle in her eye...got all that back plus more when I changed my lifestyle & added in exercise. Also I wanted my kids to see that keeping yourself healthy is important..exercise in good not bad & it is ok to eat stuff that is healthy instead of food smothered in gravy. That is my WHY & I have been living my new lifestyle for 19 months & loving it..loving life!!!"
WHY? A profound question. I asked my clean eating support group participants to share their why. The reason driving them to make changes in their lives. Do you know your WHY? What is the central force driving you to work harder, to grow into yourself, to make choices that aren't always easy, to stay committed, to LOVE yourself? It's a question worth thinking about.

This picture speaks for itself. The "just one coke a day" adds up to a WHOLE lot of sugar by weeks end. Now you can give or take a little depending on the choice of drink, but if seeing is believing, then please take a good look at how much sugar is consumed by the 'one a day habit'. Maybe you are thinking, "well I drink diet soda so I don't have to worry about this"... Turn around your can, read the ingredients, then do a little research on just what they do to sweeten your drink... It all comes down to choices, knowing what we are eating & drinking, looking for an alternative, or digging deep to break a habit that is a slippery slope into disease. Are you surprised by this picture? If 100% elimination is unthinkable, can you set a goal to eliminate the daily habit and choose 2 days a week? I occasionally drink a fountain soda, have 7up with bourbon, and my kids ask for that " special drink " on the weekends to which we typically say yes ... But I talk to them about sugar and certainly work towards helping them build healthy habits; so they won't one day struggle to break the unhealthy ones. Occasional, moderation, informed, choices ...

Life is busy, life is chaotic, life is messy, life is painful, life is joyful, life is a blessing.... It's easy to get caught up in the "I can't" or "that could never happen for me" mind set. It's natural to fear the unknown, to fear rejection to fear failure. But WHAT IF you stood up to your own fear? What if you did it anyway? What if you decided that rejection or possible failure didn't matter? What if you decided that not trying is worse than your fear? What if you reached out & asked someone to be your accountability partner? What if you keep getting up no matter how many times you are knocked down? What if your dreams come true??? WHAT IF..........

There are a million reasons to just idle through life because it's comfortable. But I have TWO remarkable reasons that make me want to see what's outside of the white lines.... Two remarkable reasons to work harder, to love more, to serve, to lead. I want to give them a foundation to stand on that is based on integrity, truth, hard work, love, faith and support. I want to set the example that we are worth investing time & energy on ourselves because we only get one body, one life. Our behaviors define us. Will it be easy, no. Will we struggle, yes. Will we fall flat on our face, yes. We will inspire others along the way, yes. Will we be judged by others who don't share our values, yes. Does it matter, no. Are we worth it, absolutely yes. We plant seeds with every action we take. I want to grow a garden that looks up to the sun and embraces each new day as an adventure... but my actions, my words, my choices feed that garden. Making choices that do not support the garden I want to grow leaves room for weeds of doubt, crevices of darkness, dry seeds desperate to reach for the sun. WHY do I set goals, why am I committed to being healthier today than I was yesterday, why do I share every single day in the hopes of inspiring or motivating just one of you, why do I work for a company that is committed to helping people make lifestyle changes ... Because I am raising 2 impressionable beings that will one day be adults. Our children are the future. You better believe I want them looking up at the sun. And the seeds I plant now, are waiting to sprout and grow and reach their full potential.

So 2016. What do you think about that? A brand new year. A blank book where YOU get to write your story. Expect more, dream more, do more, be more ... But don't discount who and what you are already. Be grateful for your story and journey.

As we look ahead to writing our books this year, I'd like to ask that you focus more on REALsolutions and not just Resolutions. Yearly goals can be intimidating. So set daily goals that are achievable. Those daily goals will be REALsolutions that grow into habits, that grow consistency, that grow accountability, that grow your confidence your story, and your hope. Cheers my friends.
