Dear Copernicianers

Sunday....

Straight out of training camp in Budapest, Hungary, the boys of Copernica FC are proud to invite the entire school to the event of the season - the match against Kadra Gap.

After a convincing 7-4 win against Budapest Vikings in Rustugo or «The Witches Pot» it was evident that the training camp bore fruit.

The training camp in Budapest, as a part of a long-term team building plan with focus on performance, included foot trips in the city on architecture safari, practicing Tai Chi in the park and enjoying the local cuisine in quiet surroundings. The early nights and prolonged periods of sobriety did wonders on the body and soul.

Still, even after a fantastic season of goals and Zidane maneuvers in the books, the boys are hungry for more!

Expect the unexpected, enjoy the show and celebrate samba football with us at Nadwislan at 19:00!!

This sunday will echo in eternity!!

Rain poured down over Krakow tonight, and Copernica FC got ready for en epic match against T.E.A. Time.
The question of the day was: Could we do it on a rainy night on Nadwislan???

The match was tight, the field was fast and the ball was hard to control. When the first-half-whistle blew, the score was 0-0.
T.E.A. Time got the leading goal early in the first half, but we quickly got back even with a well placed shot 16 meters out from Håkon Sulheim. After this Coperinica pressed without interruptions for 30 minutes, with a lot of great chances, but a frustrating evening stayed frustrating, and the question asked in the beginning was answered: We could not do it on a rainy day on Nadwislan.....

Copernica FC 1 - 1 T.E.A Time
Goals: Sulheim
Yellow card: Peder Holager (I know, you don't believe it)

Two more matches this first part of the season, one more before the infamous match versus Kadra Gap! Go Copernica!!!

The charity tournament we played this Sunday was a huge success. Great football, perfect weather and a lot of money collected for a good cause. Added some photos from the tournament.

With these kind of things, we get to combine two things we love, the passion for football and the passion to help people in need, a perfect combination for football-loving upcoming-doctors.
It should also be added that from the nine teams participating, Copernica FC's two teams came in 1st and 2nd place. So we're quite good at both things.

We've been told to pass a HUGE thank you to everyone participating in the tournament, and to everyone that stopped by the field to spectate and support the cause.

COPERNICA FC 4 - 3 RED ARMY
ATTENDANCE: 5 (mostly players who suffered injuries post-Coperniweek)

This Sunday, Copernica FC's brave men stood up against Red Army at Nadwislan Stadium in the first round of this years Cracow Sunday League.

The game started sloppy from Copernica, but again, who can blame them for not being in perfect shape after the famous Coperniweek??

After 30 minutes a corner kick from Joakim Bergh, Aleksander slotted the first goal of the season, making it 1-0 to Copernica FC.
After that, the Coperniweek-curse struck the players bad, and we went in to half time conceding two goals, which made it 1-2 in favour of Red Army. It could well have been more goals conceded, but heroic acts from the players, which also ended up with the reason Sturla is walking around with a cast these days, kept it only 1-2.

After the break, Joakim Bergh (Sulheim), Sulheim (Bergh) and Gullit (Espen) turned the match from a nightmare start to a pleasant evening at Nadwislan for the Copernica-players. Note this: They are still talking about Gullit's goal at Nadwislan Stadium - a half-volley screamer from 25 meters out and perfectly placed in the top corner.

Copernica conceded one last goal in the 90th minute, but there was no real threat to losing the game - the season started with 3 well deserved points, and Copernica FC is cruising on!
