Azure Armoury
Historical plate armour reproductions hand made in Texas.
All set now and headed home to get the next load.
Half way done, time to put up the crossbows and the opposite side cabinets.
Here's the before, I'll share the after in a few hours. Looking forward to seeing you all at the Texas Renaissance Festival soon.
And so it begins... The cleaning and prep for the museum at the Texas Renaissance Festival. These are just a few of the treasures you'll find in the cases of the armour museum.
Cosplay Pic for attention.
I'm doing some work on my website this week and adding answers to questions you may have about armour. If you've got a question about armour you would like answers to toss them in the comments and I'll answer them.

Matthew Riley did this up for me and I think it's fantastic!
Had some time so built a hammer rack to clear up some wall space and get my tools closer to me.
got a good boy of work done on my gauntlets this weekend. Just need to put the gloves in and clean them up at this point.
Lots of work on fingers this week, maybe this weekend I'll get some gauntlets together.
I completed the warhat this weekend, the sculpture in the first photo was the reference used.
Top assembled, rim coming together I just have to kick the rim up so I can rivet it to the helmet bowl. Fun fun fun!
Finished my gorget (armour for the neck) , next up a warhat.
Finally made the trip to San Antonio museum of art to see parts of the Higgins collection and it was a great time. If you're in Texas and have the chance I'd recommend you give it a go. The cost is $30 after parking and the exhibit will be there until mid May.
Another project down. Normally there would be a bit more to do here but on this one the owner doesn't want a fauld or tassets. (the bits that cover the gap between the hips and legs)
I'm starting a new project and thought we could play a game of "what is it going to be a part of".
Let me know in the comments, I'll share the answer Friday when I post the next part.
Hey Texas people, it has come to my attention that the San Antonio museum of art has done parts of the Higgins collection on display till mid May. If you have the chance and ability I would recommend hitting up this display while it's here, it's not everyday we have an armour exhibit close to home.

This is a 4th century Roman helmet based on a museum piece and sketch. As with every project it was a learning experience and a quite fun project to work on as I figured it out. Stay tuned for more fun projects to come.
Finished my paulderons last night, I'll maybe get some work photos at some point but for now it's onto the next project, a 4th century helmet.
Time to start finishing projects from TRF. Gauntlets and a helmet, pretty sure I've got some breast plates in the box also but one thing at a time.
Shop's all cleaned up, I'm back in town, and projects are starting today!
What kind of armour would you guys like to see made this year?
Glamour shots of the Maximilian Breastplate I've been working on. This thing was a bear of a project but a fun one to play and learn with. Also the angles you take photos at really make a difference so I added a few showing just how different things can get by a simple angle change. This angle issue is a big problem when trying to interpret pieces and it's why if you ever see me at a museum you'll find me taking hundreds of shots of a single pice.
Enough of a start for the night, this will eventually be a Maximilian breastplate but for now it's just a piece of bumpy steel that is kinda starting to look like a breastplate.
Come out and see us this weekend at the Texas Renaissance Festival booth 506. We will be doing work most of the day and spending time chatting with people about all things armour.
Just about have these gauntlets together, guest need to do the fingers and put in the final rivets.
Working on gauntlets over last weekend. Come see us in person at the Texas Renaissance Festival this weekend at both 506.
