Deaf Children of Central Asia
helping deaf children communicate with their hearing families
For more than 10 years we have been working with adult Deaf as home visiting sign language tutors for young deaf children and thier families. Our goal is to give parents and children a common language so that they can build a solid relationship with one another, develop the child's language skills and and prepare the children for formal education. The service is free to families.

Meet Muhammad (9, deaf) Mustafo (7, hearing impaired) and Murtazo (5, deaf) and their Mum. They live in a remote village with an often impassable road. Thanks to donors the family have been funded to travel to a nearby town to access sign language sessions with our tutor.

... cases of coronavirus are growing in number here. People are getting vaccinated. But some people have no faith in vaccination and so are refusing it. 7 of our workers have received the first vaccination, and we are due for the second one in 22 days. One of our tutors and her husband have the virus and have been being treated at home for the past two weeks. They seem a little better now. Some of our families have caught the virus. Our staff is on July summer holiday break.
