Good morning dance babes! We’ve got a DANCER ANNOUNCEMENT! 🦋✨💃🥁

Enchanting and full of life, Ellery Schafer aka is no stranger to the stage. Hailing from the beautiful Victoria, BC, she has graced countless events with her captivating performances over the past few years. It was four years ago when she first picked up a hula hoop, and from there, she swiftly delved into discovering her own unique flow state with an array of props. Double hoops, poi, double staves, and fans are just a few of the tools she wields with grace and mastery.

Immersing herself in the realms of dance and performance has been a transformative journey for Ellery, and she is endlessly grateful for the myriad of opportunities that have blossomed from it.

As a performer, her unwavering goal is to harmonize with the music and imbue the audience with that same vibrant energy. When she takes the stage, her innate musicality radiates through her smooth yet intricately technical movements, all while adorned with an ever-present, infectious smile!

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Ellery and her exceptional talents to our team. Her charm and hair flips are equal parts sass to sweetness, and her performances are both effortless and utterly captivating.

Our collaboration first began when we had the privilege of dancing Samsara together, where her remarkable ability to adapt, coupled with her unwavering professionalism and infectious enthusiasm, made it abundantly clear that she would seamlessly integrate with our team.

From the beginning in 2017 and beyond, our mission has always been to provide an outlet for inclusion and body positivite performance within our community. While we have a core group of humans, influx has naturally moved into the space of having a revolving door of performers while keeping the quality high.

As we grow, our team grows, our hearts grow, & our experience grows with it. This has made it possible to give the spotlight and offer support to new comers and veterans alike.

Samsara has become our home, and we are so grateful to be able to help bring a corner of that magic to life. We can’t thank all the organizers enough! Your level or professionalism is unmatched, the care and consideration for attendees and performers was outstanding. Thank you to everyone for allowing us the space to bring our creativity & passion to life on a larger scale. This is only the beginning and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve got in store for next year!

We appreciate every person that comes through our inbox! We love hearing your stories, and sharing in that passion for dance and flow arts. For those of you that have been inquiring to dance; we see you and will have more information on how that process works soon. Our crew mama will be hitting the stage for the Widdler! This is sure to be an exciting show full of talented artists and performers ✨

Today we are overjoyed to announce that from the infamous Influx crew will be joining us with her unique movement skills alongside our Bass DJs, for our Nov 4th show at the Capital Ballroom.
"Representing out of the territories of the Lkwungen & xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬpeoples - (so-called Victoria & Vancouver, British Columbia) - Jennay Aka Dancing Lettuce has established herself as a rump shaker committed to advocating for all avenues of inclusivity.
Her deep well of passion for dance started right from the womb. From the time she could walk, Jennay meticulously poured over music videos on MuchMusic, and set to memory some of her first routines based on pop music of that era. Jennay received her formal training in hip hop between 2007 and 2009, while also flirting with contemporary and salsa.
The mid 2000s rave scene brought her the synergy she needed. The throbbing beats and passionate community behind it set her on a path, and when she had her first go-go gig, she knew she had found a brand new goal. Through sharing the stage with many multifaceted dancers her style has evolved to Hip-hop, liquid, contemporary, vogue, twerk, as well as flow arts highlighting single and double hula hoops.
In 2017 she took her love of dance and her keen eye for detail and management and formed the Influx dance crew, focusing on showcasing a body-positive, LGBTQIA+ inclusive side to the traditional go-go world, which at the time was very heavily focused on a specific body type being allowed on stage. Influx has gone on to perform for some of the upper echelon in EDM, as well as featured performance slots at Shambhala, Rifflandia, Laketown Shakedown with plans to return to next years Shambhala Music Festival.
In 2022 she joined forces with the legendary Vancouver-founded dance group known as Light Twerkerz, a “creative collective at the intersection of dance and music culture” famous for their b***y blessing, and their unforgettable twerkshops connecting b***y and soul at festivals across the West Coast and beyond, which is sure to be an exciting new addition to this Dancing Lettuce’s salad of talents.
A born performer, a trained bad ass, and the empress of SASS when she hits a stage, Jennay has solidified herself as one of the rising stars of the electronic scene, and she’s only getting started."

11. Express your anger in a creative way. Feel your anger, express it, and learn from it. (In a song, painting, gym sesh!) sky is the limit.
