My Generation w/The Night Owl
page for the My Generation w/ The Night Owl radio show. 60s and 70s Album Rock radio, 1-4am Sundays on 91.3 WVUD, Newark Delaware
This is the Facebook companion page for My Generation w/ The Night Owl radio show on 91.3 WVUD-FM in Newark Delaware. Discussion about the show. Updates on what's happening on the show, comments from listeners or just chat about 60s and 70s Album Rock (AOR). The show airs every Sunday, 1-4am and is also available as a live stream at www.wvud.org
Tonight I should be playing nothing but rock tracks from the 60s. Things that were heard on top 40 AM radio (the only radios most of us had access to). Where Rock had its start, before the increasing popularity of FM.
I'm trying to make it as authentic sounding as possible, reverb and all.
Catch it on 91.3 WVUD 1 am tonight,

Another show tonight. I think it's a nice collection of tracks. But I want to mention that next week is the AM Radio special. We all know and remember the 60s, and how we didn't have FM radio and remember all the rock artists and bands that started getting their airplay in the 60s on our little pocket transistor radios. Or do we?
Three hours of bands that made it big as well as the so-called 'one hit wonders' and we'll have a lot of both including some tracks you likely totally forget about.
1-3am next Sat night/Sun morning 91.3 WVUD.
See you there (okay, I won't see you at all, but the music will still be there).

Another edition of My Generation coming up In fact this is a special edition of the show. It's "The Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time. As voted for by the readers, behold the genius of David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Brian May and many more."
I think you'll enjoy this one. Also, here's the link to the source material but I recommend going there after you hear the show in case there may be few surprises in the list.
Enjoy,

Well, it's been a hell of a week at the ol' Owl house and I didn't get to make the show I had planned. Fortunately, I save my old shows so tonight's will be from June of last year (I'm still not used to saying last year was 2021). You undoubtedly forgot what was played that night so just pretend it's a new one :) .

As I said last week. The My Generation Christmas Special will be repeated tonight (actually, TOMORROW night. I've been feeling like it's Saturday today). In case you missed last week, or you just want to hear it again.
Enjoy, and have a safe, healthy, happy Holiday.
TNO
It's still a little early for a Christmas show IMO, but since the next show is 1am Christmas night I thought I'd do it now (and I'll rerun it next week just in case you miss it).
So, My Generation will be the 10th Christmas special. Tonight, and will be almost 50 tracks from the people and bands you know doing some songs I don't think you know. From Hendrix to Dylan to Foghat to Albert King, there's three hours of Christmas tracks you will NOT hear on the supermarket PS system.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the show and I wish you a very Merry Christmas, from me and all the WVUD family.

Hi guys. A little late, but here's what's happening.
No Parking Break & no comedy, but there is a long Procul Harum track for the Long Song. Outside of that it's about 1/2 the regular music and 1/2 Christmas tracks (My Generation style). Got about 20 new Christmas tracks and you'll hear a few tonight.
The rest will go into next week's 10th Anniversary Christmas show. Nothing but Christmas. In fact I'm going to repeat the show the following week for anyone who didn't hear it the first time or if they want to record it.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas,
TNO
Tonight:

Folks. I know I said I hated replaying older shows (and I do) But the last two weeks have been, let's say, interesting, so tonight will be, a replay of the 7/25 show. Hopefully we'll be up to speed next week.

It's been an extremely busy week, so I didn't have time to put a show together. However, since I don't like repeat "best of" shows any more than you do, I had a prerecorded show I made a few months ago just in case (but not aired) that will air tonight, just in case.
The Parking Break will be The Moody Blues and the comedy is from Kathleen Madigan. The Long Song is Soap Shop Rock by Amon Duul I(I . Hope you enjoy.

Well, and you know, and I just found out on Monday, there was no show this weekend. Apologies for that. The show was ready to play but there was an apparent glitch in the system that kept the show from playing. Unfortunately, these things can happen, although rarely.
We're all sorry about that and the show that didn't air will be played this weekend.

Speaking of live music. I hear CNN is showing a 4-5 hour long outdoor concert in NYC at 5pm (eastern). It's supposed to have about 40 acts for 4-5 hours. The more I listen to other stations, the more I see that the 60s and 70s "deep tracks" just don't get played. With all that great music out there I think that's a shame.
Because of that, could everyone plug the show to your friends on the Internet?
TNO
Tonight's show has Steppenwolf as the Parking Break, Jerry Seinfeld is the comic and Salisbury by Uriah Heep is the Long Song. Plus lots of music, naturally,
Hope you enjoy.
