👩🍳 Join our cookbook club!!! This month, we’re cooking our way through two BRAND NEW fabulous vegetable-forward cookbooks, side by side: Christine Wong’s Vibrant Hong Kong Table (Chronicle Books 2024 ) and Tenderheart by Hetty Lui McKinnon (Knopf 2024 ) Both deeply personal and super accessible. If you’re also trying these recipes, definitely send us a shout!
🎃🥡a very happy and cozy Halloween with junzi👻🥢
🐽What I missed the most about Chinese street food are these handmade jumbo wontons in broth; purple seaweed 紫菜 and baby shrimp 小虾米 are often added to deepen the umami flavors. It’s just the most satisfying feeling when you bite into the juicy and bouncy wonton to reveal the fresh fillings inside. At junzi Columbia, you can now enjoy these jumbo wontons in soup right here in our kitchen, or, get the frozen ones to-go so you can make your own wonton soup at 2am in the morning. 😏
🍗NEW FALL MENU🍁We’ve upgraded our fan favorite Cantonese BBQ Chicken Thighs (now freshly grilled and hand cut) with colorful and flavorful fall vegetables. Get it now at junzi Yale U or junzi Columbia, and coming soon to junzi Virginia Tech!!
🍜It’s soup and sweater weather (almost!). Come on over to Junzi Kitchen Columbia. We‘ve upgraded our slow-braised beef noodle soup with premium beef shank, oven-roasted beef bone marrow, and warming Chinese spices for even more decadent, more comforting flavors. Slurp on! 🥳🥳

Our Story
At junzi, we are committed to making simple and thoughtful everyday Chinese food accessible to the many. One meal at a time, we hope to connect more individuals and communities to food, culture, and beyond.
Incubated at Yale Entrepreneurial Institute and first opened in 2015, junzi grew out of a hunger for our childhood staples: northern Chinese food made with healthy, seasonal ingredients. Yet recreating the taste of home has done much more than sate our cravings—the amazing power of food in building community has inspired us to make our bings and noodles accessible to all. In just three years, we’ve grown junzi to four locations in New Haven, CT near Yale University, Morningside Heights near Columbia University, Greenwich Village near NYU and Bryant Park—and that’s just the beginning!
