It's a NEW ASIAN RECORD! 🇻🇳 Phu Lai scored the first ever 30m jump logged in Asia and is now back in No. 1 for the continent! 🏆 It was only in October that Surf_Adi had taken the title of Asian No. 1 off Phu by logging a 27.6 from Penghu Islands, Taiwan, beating Phu's previous record by 20cm.
The story behind the record might even be more incredible than the score itself:
After a 27.4m last year, Phu promised his wife a new record for her next birthday. Just before the deadline, a strong forecast appeared on the horizon for Phang Rang, Phu’s homespot and one of the most popular kite spots in Vietnam. More motivated than ever, he charged out in 40 knots on his 8m Ozone Kites Edge V11, aiming for that exclusive 30m mark and a promise kept. Two hours later, he returned to the beach victoriously.
Reclaiming the title of Asian No. 1 and joining the prestigious 30 meter club all as a birthday gift to your wife is an achievement beyong imagination. Well done, Phu Lai 🤘
