On the 19th March at 3.30 pm, Troy and I drove up the driveway looking at 2 police officers waiting for us, I instantly felt a sickness that I didn't know existed. They said words that no parent should ever hear and in that trillionth of a second our world was shattered forever.πŸ’”
As I'm sure you would all know by now, our perfect, caring, loving, crazy, adorable, adventurous, skilled, talented and overall amazing son, Joshua, was taken from us in a tragic motorbike accident. The only comfort that we have and that helps keep us going, is knowing that he was doing what he loved and his smile would have been filling his helmet. πŸ₯Ί
Joshie is Troys and my first love, he introduced us to the wonderful world of being parents and filled our heart's with a love that no words described and so much happiness. Some days were harder than others, but I can promise you, I wouldn't change a thing. His heart is bigger than phar laps and he would do absolutely anything to help you out. His smile lit up a room and his crazy mullet, ranga beard and unusual fashion sense will forever be his trade marks.🦺
From the day he was born to the day he crossed the finish line of life he was a CHAMPION. πŸπŸ†
No words will ever explain the gratitude and love we have for all our wonderful family and friends, that have embraced our family, with their love and support this entire week. We have felt so incredibly blessed and without "our tribe" we are both certain that our heads would be "under water". Our home has been filled with so much love, crazy stories, massive hugs, a rediculous amount of tears, delicious food, beautiful flowers and even some laughter when we talk about our Joshie Boy. πŸ’πŸ˜πŸ«‚
His friends have joined us in their grief and it comforts us, knowing that they know, we are here for them forever. Joshie has the most amazing group of "brothers" and "sisters" and we know how much he loved and respected each and every one of them and we will continue to do that for our boy, and because we love them also.🧑🧑

🧑🧑We will NEVER speak of Joshie in a past tense and we will NEVER say "goodbye".
We WILL say "see you soon, be safe and I LOVE YOU, MOST, MORE, LONGER, FOREVER and 1 WEEK".🧑🧑

Joshua's service is on Friday 31st at 10.30 Winton Motor Raceway

Please be thankful for what you have and don't ever let go.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE SHARE

Hi all. Hope your all doing well. I've come across a deal with a new purchase of a racecar but I need your help to get the funds to buy it. I hate asking people for money but I'm willing to work with individuals or businesses to make a deal to make us both happy. I will have room for alot of stickers for sponsorship. So if you are a business or an individual that would like to invest in myself and my career please DM the Dowelly Racing page or call Joshua Dowell .

I really believe this car will take me alot further in my racing career and life goals.

Thankyou all for your on going support and I'm excited to share with you what the car is 😁

Hi all. Hope you've had a ripper start to the year. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm going to be doing very little racing for the first half of this year if any at all! As many of you know the poor old au is in desperate need for some repairs and well earned upgrades. I've come to a tuff decision that in order to do these repairs and upgrades I need to take the first half of the season off to be able to afford it. But we will hopefully be back for the second half of the season bigger and badder 🀘🀘

The 2022 race season has had everything from a crash 5 laps into the first round of the year to flooded pits and race gear underwater in the last round. We have done 6 rounds of door to door racing, a passenger day, a Kahanacross day, 40m of flying, a couple of good spins, and a lot of 2 wheel action. The car has been threw 5 sets of tires, around 1000 litres of fuel, around 8 sets of brake pads, 4 front guards and 20ish litres of engine oil. I'd personally like to thank all my crew, friends, family, and everyone else that has helped me to do what I love this year and past years. A massive thankyou to bretto and Steve for getting me to rd 1 and there continued help threw the year. And finally a massive thankyou to my sponsors for this year

Well what an eventful weekend we've just had!!!

Started off on Friday with all the usual sign in and final checks on the car before we went out as we always do. I was extremely keen to get out on track and hopes were high for a successful weekend. In the first session I went out on to an extremely slippery track but another better than I thought it would be. Only got about 3 laps in before the car threw the drive belt and forced me to come in as it runs the water pump and alternator. When I got in we realised we had a pretty decent oil leak and thought it may of been the front main seal. So dad ran back into Wang to get a front main seal and a crank pulley puller. After he got back out we got the car going again and went out for session 2 where I only got 1.5 laps in and it threw the belt again. When we came back it was still leaking oil so we decided to bring the car home and pull the engine out to rectify the problem. After 6 hours of work we had the engine out of the car, the sump off, the sump resealed and the engine back in the car running again ready for qually Saturday morning.

Saturday morning we got back out to Winton got the car unloaded and did a few final checks where we had realised we had forgotten the dipstick tube and dipstick in the rush to get the car back together. So once again dad rushed back home and grabbed it so we were ready for qually. Once dad got back we got the car done quickly and headed out for qually. I had a bit of a spin (my 2nd spin ever!!) After hitting a small puddle on the entery to turn 3 and locking the rears. After getting going again I pushed on in slippery conditions to do a 1.36.6 to put me into p1 in class b for thundersports! We came back and realised we still had a slight oil leak but wasn't bad enough to be to concerned about so we decided to just keep washing under the bonnet after each race and keep pushing on. So after this we had a few hours break before race 1.

Race 1 started pretty normally with all of us pushing into turn 1 and cars everywhere with some very fast close racing. Once we got onto our 2nd lap things changed for the worst for a couple competitors after getting tangled on each other coming out of turn 2 sending both cars into the wall infront of me. Both driver were ok but there cars are a different story. But knowing both drivers and teams how I know then there cars will be back bigger and badder than ever! This incident unfortunately put us under safety car for 7 of our 10 laps which only gave us 2 more laps of racing after the safety car pulled off. So the rest of the race was pretty tame.

Race 2 on Sunday was pretty casual with only 11 cars on track with a few having damage and issues earlier in the weekend. With the lap times I'm currently running the nearest cars are 5 seconds infront a lap or 10 seconds a lap behind so I kinda just get stuck alone after a few laps.

Race 3 was much the same as race 2 with the first couple of laps being exciting battling with some of the fastest cars before the get to the straight and the have the hp to pull away for myself. But after the race I got to do an interview and dad lost $100 after my Rickey Bobby impersonation πŸ€ͺ

Race 4 was the last race for the day and the weekend. The sun was coming down a bit and straight into our eyes as we were coming down the main straight which made breaking zones extremely difficult to find and a few cars making mistakes. Luckily enough I played it safe and made it threw to the end of the race without making any big mistakes.

So another round is now done and dusted with another full bag of points.

I'd like to say a massive thankyou to dad, Eliza, pop, mum and everyone else that has helped get the car ready and supported my dreams.

I'd also like to welcome and also say a massive thankyou to my new sponsors Fullbore Quarry Services. I wouldn't be able to do it without your support

Lastly a massive thankyou to all my friends, family and supporters for always believing in me and helping along the way. It's all the little things that go a long way.

Next round of thundersports is in Sydney in a few months so time to start getting the car ready to rock πŸ€™πŸ€™
