Friendly Reminder: 🧦 Socktober is happening at Inner City Development Center in October! So on our Second and Fourth Sundays in October, we invite you to bring a NEW pair of socks or underwear (or more than one) to donate! We will gather the donations and get them to the team at @innercitydev, who will ensure the donations get to people who need the resources. With a small purchase like this, we show that a small act of love can make a big difference in the lives of those in need. 🧦 Adult socks for men and women are requested -- and new undies are always welcomed too.

Today is #NationalWalkToAParkDay and #WorldMentalHealthDay – and luckily, a trip to the park is good for our mental health! 🌳 🧠🦶 When we “put our face in nature” we are giving ourSelves the opportunity to slow down, experience something bigger than ourSelves, and find awe. 🌳 🧠🦶 Will you make time for a walk today? Take a photo of something that captures your eye (a glimmer!) and share it with us in Circle Friends or other social media.

On #NationalDoSomethingNiceDay, we honor the power we hold to change the course of someone’s day in a matter of seconds with our thoughts, words, and deeds. 🧠 💬 🛒 What are ways that others have offered you small kindnesses? Here’s some suggestions for easy actions that don’t take much time, energy or money: ✅ Notice someone signaling in traffic and allow them into your lane. ✅ Move something for a neighbor, perhaps returning mis-delivered mail, putting a newspaper on the porch, or returning a trash can. ✅ Open a door for another person before you go inside a business. ✅ Let someone with fewer items go ahead of you in line at the store. ✅ Tip more than 20% as an act of gratitude. ✅ Give a compliment: Tell someone you like their smile, attitude, earrings, etc. ✅ Listen and be present with those around you.

☕ On #internationationalcoffeeday, we offer this reminder to slow down and smell the beans…

🖋️Do you journal? On today’s #DearDiaryDay, we encourage you to pull out your journal for some quiet time–whether it’s a daily habit or one you’re working to build. ✍️Did you know that studies show journaling helps to reduce anxiety and stress? It’s also a great tool to get to better know yourSelf.

👏👏👏Thanks to everyone who came out to help celebrate the #sacredartofaltars with us tonight! We love how unique the exhibit is every year and are thankful for all the connections created and renewed, including this one for Terry Gay Pucket and a former student who won Terry’s altar this year. 💖💖💖 Thanks to our hosts at @saartleague! #creativeapproachtospirituality

As of Friday afternoon, there are STILL several #sacredartofaltars without bids, so please consider taking a look and thinking about whether you can identify a good home for any of these beautiful altars. (Note, some of the altars in this reel have bids and some do not.) Bid now bit.ly/altars2024 and join us for the closing to take yours home (or we can ship!). 💖

Skip Gearson has been making all the blank altar boxes for years and sometimes creates a finished altar when his schedule allows too! What do you see: 🐻 🦋 🦬?! Look online and join us for the closing of the show on Saturday!

Daniel Stoneham shares his #sacredartofaltars entry with us. Did you see the 🦉 👁️? 🕯️ Bid now— before it is too late—bit.ly/altars2024 🕯️ And join us for the closing reception saturday at @saartleague
