Crazy Wisdom Ayurveda
Ayurveda, Diet, Lifestyle Well, I wouldn't call myself a Buddhist even though I spend many Monday evenings meditating and discussing Buddhism with friends.
Recently reading THE SNOW LEOPARD by Peter Matthiessen I stumbled onto the concept of "crazy wisdom". I've been searching for a name for my Ayurvedic Website and FB page for a long time. So while while my Buddhism may be in question I am definitely a Yogini (so was Buddha) and my journey into Yoga and Ayurveda has definitely been touched by crazy wisdom for which I am grateful. I offer up this page to share my continued journey and hope that others will benefit from sharing my path.

There may be snow and cold, but where I am there's plenty of mud under there. On warm days the ground water is moving. Tree sap is starting to flow. Kapha (water/earth) season is upon us. It's time to clear out all the lubricating juiciness (snigda) we needed to keep our bodies from drying out during the cold, dry Vata (air/space) season. Think warm, dry and light. Foods that are scraping (ruksha) can help. Kapha food lists are available online, or contact me for a consultation. Always happy to see you at Kripalu ❣️🙏
Tumeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Cook with ghee and black pepper. Add water and cook down until no more steam is coming off. Store in mason jar in fridge. Use paste to make golden milk or mix with a little raw honey and enjoy. Better than popping tumeric capsules.
4 pm slump? 2 to 6 pm Vata (space/air) dosha is predominant. We can literally get "spacey". Everything is a bit dispersed. It takes more energy to focus. Instead of turning to caffeine and sweets try some herbal tea. Tulsi (holy basil) can help along with a bit of fruit cooked lightly with cinnamon and ghee. Apples are ideal for this time of year to help get the body ready to cleanse out the sruff we built up over winter to keep us warm and nourished. Cinnamon helps maintain even blood sugar.
That time of year.
