Jesus help me
Did you know that the earth could fit into the volume of the sun over a million times? Think of it... what sort of Being could create the sun? The Creator says, "I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings" (Jeremiah 17:10). How will you do on that Day? Have you kept the Ten Commandments? Have you lied or stolen? Have you used God's name in vain? He even sees your thought life. Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever done that? Have you ever made a god to suit yourself (within your mind)? There is one God, and you have to face Him. Alone. On Judgment Day. Imagine being found guilty of being a lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterer at heart. Please, listen to your conscience. God doesn't want you to go to Hell, but that's where you will go if you die without His forgiveness. Justice must be served. But God is rich in mercy. He became a man (in Jesus Christ) and suffered and died on the cross, taking your punishment upon Himself. We broke the Law, and Jesus paid our fine: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death. That means you can be given everlasting life. Do what the Bible says. Repent (turn from all sin), and trust Jesus Christ alone for your eternal salvation - as you would trust a parachute to save you. Do it now; you may not have tomorrow. Pray something like this: "Dear God. I am so sorry for sinning against you. Please forgive me. From this day I will trust Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. In His Name I pray, Amen." Now read the Bible, and obey what you read.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

John 6:68, ‘Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life.’

When the torrents of confusion and uncertainty and doubt hammer against the disciples’ faith, what is it that binds them to Christ? It is not an elaborate system of apologetic arguments, it is not a collection of manuscript evidence, it is not a rigorous philosophical defense—all of these things are good and healthy and wise for the Christian to possess, but a faith *grounded upon* these assurances is only as strong *as* these assurances, and will, sooner or later, collapse.
No, what binds the disciples to their Lord is the simple, unshakable, Spirit-wrought recognition that Peter voices in this verse: In Jesus I have heard, and seen, and received the words—indeed, the Word—of eternal life; where else could I possibly go? In Him I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good….in His face I have beheld the light of the beauty of God…His word is my life, I can go nowhere else.
Apologetic arguments can be undermined, evidence can be overturned, philosophical defenses can be bested, but the blood-bought witness of the indwelling Spirit who opens and turns the eyes of our heart to see in the slain and risen Jesus our Lord and God and Life….that cannot be snuffed out. Everything else may fall, every other confidence may be shattered, but this ‘still, small voice,’ this flickering candle that goes on burning even beneath a flood of worldly assault, this ‘where else can I go?’ that clings by sovereign grace to the risen Lord, cannot be extinguished.
Christian, in the face of a disbelieving world, hold fast by grace to the crucified and risen Jesus Christ—proclaimed in the Gospel, declared in the Scriptures, expounded by His Apostles, borne witness by His Spirit, present in the Body, at work in the World, returning for His Bride. (Luke 18:8).
You don’t have to live your life in fear and darkness. Jesus has won the victory! 💪

There are more people who are worried about asking God for anything than there are people who will ask Him for wrong stuff, but, there are those people out there. So God had to teach us, as we see in James chapter 3, that we can’t get Him to do something for us that is obviously wrong. If it’s something sinful that you want, you can’t expect God to give you what you want.
God won’t endorse sin, no matter how much He loves you. So don’t even bother to ask Him to sanction your sin. He won’t because God is holy. For instance, if what your heart desires is to kill someone who did you wrong, you can’t be upset if God doesn’t hand them over to you. If what your heart desires is to sleep with somebody else’s spouse, do you really think you can ask for that in prayer? If you want another man’s wife or another wife’s man, God is never going to say, “Oh, absolutely, I’ll do that for you!” No indeed!
You can’t ask God to condone what’s obviously wrong in His sight. That’s why you should search your heart for “why” you want whatever it is you want in the first place. It’s so that you know your desires are coming out of a good place—a place of purity and not of lustful desires that are sinful in God’s sight.

He renews our hopes and heals our bodies. - Psalm 147:3
The peace of our souls does not have to rise and fall with unpredictable people or situations.
Our feelings will shift. People do affect us. But the peace of our souls can be tethered to all that God is. We can let His Word wrap around our souls with steady assurance.
