Music for when you're being chased by a bear. Or you're a spy on a train. Or shopping for dinner. Your chance to make the soundtrack for your life. Who are we?
We are two music lovers that live on opposite coasts in different countries. Our paths crossed because of art, we became friends because we make each other laugh, and this venture is shared because of the many ways our visions of the future overlap. Our worlds move with a soundtrack behind them. We obsess over finding the perfect song to score a thousand different moments knowing that music helps
us connect with them in more meaningful ways. Our memories are vast landscapes filled with beats and harmonies, labelled with a Sharpie and stuffed into the hands of our favourite people to explain who we are and what we feel in that very moment. Music speaks for us when we can’t find the words. We used to spend hours picking songs and then recording them onto cassettes. We worked hard to make the perfect inserts. Our mixtapes were gifts for friends, love letters, condolence cards, or something we just did for ourselves. Now our felt markers have become keystrokes and our music no longer needs to be spooled, but our desire to share pieces of ourselves through the perfect, peculiar playlist remains unchanged. Here are our playlists that score, define, and symbolize windows into our lives. Alison:
