a local non-profit and generate a greater awareness of those working to directly improve the lives of people living in the greater New Orleans area. As a member, you choose your level of involvement. Members may choose to make their annual contribution early in the year and do nothing more until October when they vote on the grant finalists. Others may choose to make their contribution in monthly or quarterly installments. And some members may choose to become more involved after making their contribution recommending a local non-profit, hosting a social event, or participating in a committee. Each year, MORE for the 504’s members will nominate local non-profit organizations for consideration of the grant. Each member is invited to suggest one charity for consideration each year. Each recommended non-profit will be initially evaluated by the Grant Evaluation Committee to ascertain minimum eligibility requirements. Approved non-profits will be invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to the committee. The Grant Evaluation Committee then will review the LOI from each submitting non-profit and determine which organizations will be invited to submit a formal grant application. MORE for the 504 FAQ’s

WHAT IS MORE FOR THE 504? MORE for the 504 is a charitable fund created by a giving circle of women. MORE for the 504‘s mission is to encourage women’s involvement in philanthropy and make a significant difference in our beloved New Orleans community by combining members’ financial resources in order to make annual large-scale grants a reality. Women (like you!) who are passionate about New Orleans and want MORE for the 504! Membership application is attached. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Members of MORE for the 504 annually contribute $425 (includes $25 in administrative expenses*) for the purpose of together making an impactful grant to a greater New Orleans area non-profit organization every year. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE GRANT? Non-profit organizations receiving the MORE for the 504 grant must be based and offer services in the greater New Orleans area, support one of our identified philanthropic focus areas, be in good financial standing with the IRS, and have been in operation for at least two years. HOW WILL A GRANT BE AWARDED? Each member may nominate one local non-profit for consideration. The Grant Evaluation Committee will evaluate potential candidates and narrow the selection down to 3 organizations. All members of MORE for the 504 are eligible to vote to decide the recipient of the grant. The grant recipient will be announced on Giving Tuesday each year.
