who has impacted your life this year in some way?
drop their name below and I’m going to pick one of them to have a starbucks on me!!
1. drop a pic and tell me why your thankful for them.
As you finish out November think about all that you have thanked God for over thesr last 30 days and then don’t stop there.
Let it become a pattern in your daily life. Having gratitude and allowing your heart to be full of thanksgiving truly positions yourself to see things differently.
As you face this day ask yourself these questions….
1. What do you want me to do today God?
2. Who needs me to see them today? (will you open my eyes to see ?)
Don’t let the holidays steal your time and your joy.
wow it’s the last day of November
This morning I am writing and reflecting on gratitude. Not for a message, or a blog post or anything else but for my heart and also for when my kids pick up my journal when I am long gone. I want them to see a pattern in my prayers. A pattern of genuine thankfulness for what God has done, what He is doing and praising Him for what is to come.
Today as I end out my immediately came to my mind. I met a few years ago and since then wow wow wow is all that I can say. I watched her surrender her life to Jesus at the altar at this past summer and worship with such freedom. Kayla is strong, beautiful inside and out and genuinely loves people so well. I never leave her presence not feeling encouraged by her.
Kayla I am so proud of you. The way you push through hard hard seasons, the way you desire to know Jesus and the way you smile regardless of how your day is going. I love you beautiful girl and today I am thanking God for YOU!!!
Hey sweet friend!!
Before you lay your head down tonight and replay conversations, or beat yourself up over the to-do list that didn’t get finished I want to remind you that tomorrow is a brand new day. Don’t let todays perceived failures keep you from tomorrows victories.
One thing I have recently been thanking God for is how much He truly satisfies my soul. Truthfully the more I walk in freedom the less I desire to please others. Tonight as I washed my face I looked at myself in the mirror and just smiled. Why you ask….
Y’all I feel so free.
Like FREE TO MY CORE.
God loves us so much!!
Knowing that and then choosing to believe it and walk in it ignites FREEDOM within us and my goodness I don’t ever want to walk in anything else.
Freedom is my favorite thing!! Also If there is one thing I have learned recently it is that I love a good pajama set :)
Day 29 of
came into my life as a little girl and over the years I have watched her step into leadership in leading others closer to Jesus. This year she sat in her first women’s group as a participant and hearing her talk and share was mind blowing to me. I am so thankful God opened the door for me to meet this precious girl because she is so special to me.
Honduras has a huge chunk of my heart and it is because of all the friendships God has gifted me with over the years.
I truly cannot wait to be back there. Alexa I am so proud of you. You’re beautiful inside and out and today I am thanking God for you. Can’t wait to see you again!
The moment you think you can’t see God in the midst of your circumstances is the very moment you trust Him anyway.
Day 28 of
Have you ever met someone who felt more like family than a friend? quickly became like family to me. She has been with us since day one of Revolution church. She has been in lifegroup with me from day one of Revolution church. We vacation together, make gingerbread houses together, talk about Jesus and everything else in between.
Many traditions that have been created over the years have you apart of them.
Sandra you truly feel like my big sister and your home feels like home to me.
Sandra thank you for always encouraging me, for always being present in my life and choosing to walk beside me in all seasons of my life. Today I am so thankful for you!!!
Love you so much!!
Jeremiah 31:25
For I [fully] satisfy the weary soul, and I replenish every languishing and sorrowful person.
Day 27 of
&
When I was in student ministry one of the things I loved was the CRAZY things Rich did hahaha From his games,to the illustrations that drove home a certain point and all the messy stuff in between. Fast forward to this season and these two are killing the game at Revolution Church on a whole new level with a new generation!! The amount of students that are coming each week is the fruit of their obedience.
From intentionality to straight preaching to all the fun to making us laugh to rapping (yes dude can rap) to just being willing to do whatever it takes for Students to know Jesus.
These two love each other, their sweet girls, the church, the students and our city and have quickly become some of our greatest friends.
One of the things that I love so much about these two is that whatever we do they bring their girls too. They understand what it looks like to be all in and they are literally just getting started!!!
Today I am thanking God for these two!!!!! I love you both so much and I am excited I get to serve beside you.
Day 26 of
Meet Gina. She serves her heart out. She and is always checking on me and Richard. She loves people so well. She can dance like nobody else. She can cook and is forever pouring out to the people who surround her. She loves the church and Jesus and it shows in everything she does and says.
Gina You are amazing and today I am thanking God for you!!!! Gina Price Campbell
Day 25 of
I am thankful for FREEDOM.
Freedom was a gift from God to us through Jesus.
Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
I love Freedom. What I have discovered over the years is that yes we have the ability to embrace FREEDOM through Jesus once and for all but if you read the second part of that verse you also see that we have to choose to walk in that freedom every single day.
If you struggle with anything that keeps your mind dwelling on that thing, or desiring something outside the truth of Gods word, or you find yourself continually holding on to “that thing” for comfort sweet friend you’re probably not walking in the fullness of freedom.
How do we do it? We get up everyday and we choose to believe that Jesus is who He says He is and who He says we are. We also replace every lie we believe with Gods word (over and over and over and over). We walk in confidence of who God has designed us to be and we choose to obey regardless of how we feel or what others think or say. We “laugh without fear of the future”.
We (YOU AND ME) have choices everyday to follow Jesus with our whole hearts and walk confidently in the freedom we possess through the cross or we walk right back into bo***ge by taking steps in insecurities, fear and lies that only keep us in bo***ge.
I refuse to be who others want me to be. I refuse to listen to the lies of the enemy. I refuse to not be quiet with the stirring inside my soul for girls and women to know FREEDOM in Christ.
So today I posted this picture for two reasons.
1. Old Holly from 10 years ago would have never allowed a picture from behind to be posted but What I see in this picture is a bunch of teen girls with their palms up asking God to do something within them. My Goodness that makes my heart melt!!!
2. I want this picture to encourage you to post what you want and not what will get you the most likes. Who cares what others think!!
Today take one step towards Jesus because Freedom looks good on you!
day 24 of
My sister is one of the strongest people I have ever known. She is a single mom with such a deep love for Jesus and her girls. She beat cancer and she can crochet a blanket in a hot minute. She is beautiful inside and out and she makes me laugh every time I am around her. God gave me the best sister and friend a girl could ask for. Today I am so thankful for you and I love you!!
Hurry back to Gastonia :)
Happy Thanksgiving.
Fully Belly
Even Fuller heart
and a clean kitchen
I am full of gratitude this year for so many reasons. My family, what God is doing in my city and in my church. The friends who surround me and most of all the unconditional love that Jesus just keeps pouring out.
What was your favorite dish today?
Day 23 of
I will never forget the first time I talked to . I was stepping into this “new role” of becoming a pastors wife. I was scared out of mind and I could feel myself placing so many expectations on what this role was suppose to look like.
Lori not only gave me practical and tangible things to do, she poured wisdom and encouragement into me as well.
She truthfully is one of the most genuine and authentic people I have ever met. She can preach the house down, and yet also just sit and listen and tenderly have the sweetest conversation about anything.
Lori thank you for leading the way you do, for being obedient to the call, for speaking life into women consistently, and most of all for simply being you because there is no one like you!
Today I hope you feel seen and loved because I am thanking God for YOU today!
day 22 of
is basically a real life Disney princsss but even more she has a beautiful soul. Yesterday our coffee date consisted of tears, laughter, hugs and a whole lot of Jesus. She truly desires to follow Jesus with her whole heart and I can’t wait to watch what this next season looks like for her. I adore you and today I am thanking God for you. Every coffee date, every mission moment, every text and sweet serving opportunities with you are all very much worth every second.
Keep being you.
Day 21 of
This girly.
The amount of growth that I have seen in her since she was a middle schooler is unbelievable. From her confidence, to her boldness to her love for serving people for the sake of Jesus being glorified is unmatched. She hypes me up, she curls my hair, she always always always is encouraging me in some way.
When I say hard truths she receives them.
This morning as I thought about who I wanted to thank God for Emma immediately came to mind. She is beautiful inside and out and watching God stir, push, shape and mold her this year has been the most beautiful thing (I would call it REFINEMENT wink face)
Y’all everyone needs a in their lives!
Emma today I am thankful for you and that we are friends :) love you!!!!
day 20 of
August 12 1992 the most handsome FINNNNNE looking boy walked into my broken life. We were just 17 years old.
We fell in love with each other and Jesus along the way and now at 48 years of age He continues to make me smile, laugh and He is still the most finest thing I have ever seen. He is my best friend and the love of my life and I am forever grateful you walked in to my church because it changed my life forever and ever. Today I am thanking God for you I am better because of you!! Thank you for leading me to Jesus and telling me I am pretty every single day. xoxo forever and always
Day 19 of
has been in my life for almost 20 years now. She truly has one of the biggest hearts I have ever known. She introduced me to foreign missions and leads me in local missions. She is the Missions coordinator at and she works a full time job. But she is also one of those friends who can finish my sentences, and knows what I am thinking without me saying a word. She serves endlessly and has a passion for people. This new season of ministry is already blowing my mind and we haven’t even made it to 2024!!
Blake today I am thankful for you’re leadership, your passion for Jesus and people but even more your friendship. I love you so much and I love doing life and ministry with you.
day 18 of
I’ve known Caroline since she was in middle school. She is now a freshman in college and I couldn’t imagine her not in my life. She may call me her mentor but I also call her friend, full of wisdom, an incredible speaker and she is passionate for the things of God. She encourages me, and reminds me often of what God has called me to.
I am proud of you. I love watching God work in and around you. You ooze the love of Jesus and you’re passion for others to know Him is contagious. Keep being you!
Today I am thanking God for you!! I love you dearly!!! better together lil bestie
day 17 of
These people are 100% amazing in every way!!!
They lead with passion and authenticity and they truly truly love Jesus with their whole hearts. This weekend we are having a retreat of planning and dreaming and laughing and crying and goodness I can’t get over how thankful I am for each one of them. Today I am beyond thankful for the staff at
Also Tonight we ventured to the Southern Christmas show for some fun and we had a blast!
Day 16 I cannot tell you how much I love she checks on me literally weekly. She prays for me, she pumps me up, she speaks life into me, she loves my family, she encourages my dreams, she travels with me, she picks scary airbnbs, she loves adventure with me (and welcomes it). She keeps me laughing and never ever ever makes me strive for her attention or friendship. Nicki Thank you for always seeing me and being truly one of the best friends I have ever had. I love you so much and today I am so thankful for you!
If you want wisdom.
seek God
read your bible
spend time with those who are wise (meaning they follow the Lord by aligning their lives with his word)
day 15 of
If there is one thing I have learned in ministry it is always keep yourself in a posture of learning and soaking up the wisdom of others who are more wise than you. Today I am thanking God for because she pours so much wisdom into me. She loves me and my family so well. She listens to my dreams, my heart cries, & my petitions and meets me with truth, wisdom, depth and encourages me greatly to keep going!! Today we spent 2 and half of uninterrupted coffee and straight Jesus talks and my soul is spilling over because of it. Debbie thank you for speaking life into me and today I am thanking God for you. You make me better
day 14 of
I remember the first time me and had our first coffee date. It was at Books a Million and she was shy, and unsure of a lot of things. Now fast forward to Thursday mornings in our lifegroup and she opens up her mouth and I am blown away!!! Is she still shy a little but my goodness her boldness and confidence in the Lord is mind blowing. She is full of wisdom and wants nothing more than to reflect Jesus in everything she does.
I am beyond proud of you Sara and I am even more proud to be your friend because you truly make me better!!! I love you and today I am so thankful for YOU!!!!
day 13 of
Today I am thanking God for my youngest daughter
She is someone that has walked through a lot over the past few years. I am seeing God undo and restore and pull out and shape her in such a beautiful way!
She loves missions and disney and matcha and anything (literally this girl has attended the same concert in New york, columbia, charlotte, and coming is DC 🤦🏻♀️) She makes the best sweet potato casserole that her grandma passed on to her before she passed away, she loves loves traditions and gets super fussy if things come against it (aka me trying to throw old and ugly christmas decorations away) hahahaha and hands down she is my favorite barista (try anything she makes you will not be disappointed).
Rachel is unique, and sassy and yet soft in her own way. I believe God is doing something so sweet in her this season and today I am thanking God for giving me her.
Also swipe till the end to watch her jump in the cold pool to raise money for her upcoming Africa trip!
day 12 of
I met at a retreat that I spoke at in her back yard a few years ago. Afterwards we stayed connected and then one day she walked into and she never left. She is passionate about the word of God, she leads from such a sweet an authentic place and her friendship has become so priceless to me.
We have laughed, cried, worshiped and petitioned the Lord together for years now. Rachael I am so thankful for you today. Thankful for your friendship, for walking beside me, for cheering me on loudly, speaking life into me, praying over me, and dreaming BIG with me along the way. Keep being you and keep showing up because God is using you in a mighty way!!!
I love you!
Proverbs 27:9
Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence
Ya girl is worn out but my goodness this weekend was so special.
One more speaking engagement for 2023 to go!!
Thankful and overwhelmed by Gods goodness ❤️
Whatever is out of your control is under God’s authority so there is no need to keep trying to control what you were never meant to carry.
Let
it
Go
Day 11 of
Jeremiah 31:25 “For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”
I made this beautiful ornament last night. It’s not perfect by any means and if you look closely you can see all the imperfections. But as I looked at it last night before bed I began to reflect on this word.
This is my 2023 ONE WORD. At the beginning of this year the Lord spoke so sweetly to my heart and said “Holly I am going to replenish and restore what has been lost or stolen.” I remember weeping and thinking how can this really happen after 2020-2022 completely kicked a dent in my heart? But God always keeps His promises.
When I tell you that my soul has been replenished in ways I can’t even put into words goodness ya’ll it has. God has overwhelmed me this year with His love and with His faithfulness and He has truly satisfied the longings of my soul and healed and smoothed out some dings and dents along the way.
This morning I am thanking God for a lot of things but today I am pressing pause to thank Him for keeping His promises, for restoring what has been lost or stolen, and reviving within me so much passion for growing the Kingdom.
This world is evil and filled with so much darkness and we can either focus on the darkness or we can allow Jesus to use us to illuminate those spaces with His light. The same with people, they can be mean and hurtful and say things that are distorted and untrue and we can either allow those words to deplete us or we can let Gods word replenish and satisfy us!!!
I choose Jesus. (and nothing else)
this is a picture to remind me of two things.
1. I have a full tank of gas ( who am I)
2. I cried majority of the drive because I listened to sing Holy Forever literally on repeat. I prayed for a lot of people and things but I also just worshiped His Holy name.
usually is my side-kick at my speaking engagements but God ordained a me and Him only trip this go round because He wanted to just refresh my soul over and over and over again.
Pausing to just be with the Father shew wee YAAAS LORD!
searching for peace in anything or anyone outside of Jesus will never lead you to true peace only temporary satisfaction.
Day 10 of
I met when she was on my podcast a few years ago but we had never actually met in person. She spoke at my sweet friend Nicki’s women’s event a few months ago so we got to officially meet and spent a little time together. Honestly I have never met anyone like Candace. She is funny, sweet and the wisdom that oozes out of her is unbelievable. She makes you feel like you’re home and yet challenges you to be better. Our dinner conversation led me to the doctor and diagnosed with ADHD and y’all my life has changed. Candace thank you for being honest, for refreshing my soul, for making me laugh until I almost peed my pants, and for making me tear up at your passion for Israel. Thank you most of all for pointing me to Jesus over and over again. Our friendship is literally just getting started and yet you have already made me better.
Hugs to you friend today I am thankful for you! (hmmmm where is my seatbelt? iykyk)
I walked into the five below today and this sweet lady was coming out as I was going in said “my goodness I love that shirt, oh my I love those shoes well I just love your whole outfit” I smiled and chuckled and said it is all from Shein.
As I walked into the store I immediately thought about how her compliment put a little pep in my step.
You see when we say things out loud that encourage, motivate and compliment others it truly does make a difference. People shouldn’t have to fish for compliments from Christ followers nor should people have to beg for encouragement. Honestly we should be the biggest encouragers in the room. We should look for ways to lift others up, build them up and fan the flame of those who are often suffocated by insecurities.
For every person you come in contact with within your day is never by accident. Remember that God assignments come daily and daily we either ignore them or run towards them.
It may be a phone call to encourage someone, or the lady who is checking you out in the grocery store may just need your smile and encouragement to finish her shift. Or maybe that picture you scrolled by on social media may need a click and a comment of reminding them of who God is and who they are in Christ.
If there is one thing I have learned over the years is that so many girls and women struggle with approval addiction and comparison so let’s disrupt that attack from the enemy by encouraging louder with your words as you point them back to Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
2 Timothy 1:6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,
Never forget that…..
God loves you even when you don’t feel lovable.
God pours out unconditional grace even when we don’t deserve it.
God redeems our messes even when we choose the mess over and over again.
God sets is free even though we often choose to cling to what’s enslaving us.
The truth is that you will never be able to out sin the grace of God. Following Jesus will never be about behavior modification but when you encounter Jesus EVERYTHING changes
Embrace Jesus today sweet friend and live as if you’re set FREE.
Remember that Gods goodness isn’t contingent on your performance.
It is not “God is good if I am good”
God is good.
day 9 of
Girls ministry and women’s ministry fuels me. Every single conversation with teen girls , college age girlies or women always reminds me of my purpose. It is to encourage them all to embrace FREEDOM in Christ!!!! These ladies along with who took the picture walked out on stage with me at our In His Presence event and shared so much wisdom!!! I love being in the midst of deep conversations and I love girls ministry and women’s ministry so so much.
Girls, ladies we are better together and I truly mean that. When we see each other through the lens of grace and not comparison and genuine togetherness we are going to make a huge impact for the Kingdom!!
Let’s go!!!
Text someone today and remind them of who they are in Christ and encourage them to keep going!!
.dean .mason I adore each of you!!!
day 8 of
Today I am thankful for small moments that feel like I am pressing pause. It’s the moments where time seems to slow down for just a second or two and that sip of coffee is even better than the day before even though you made it the same way. It’s the moments where you look out the window and see the birds, the squirrels and the shapes of the clouds while you are doing your dishes.
These moments don’t happen everyday but when they do it’s like a spa day for my brain haha. It slows me down and my heart fills up simply because I chose to press pause.
As I am getting older (not old) I am finding that I am doing it more and more and the soul rest and peace that follows is unmatched.
Take a moment today and press pause. Notice all the Who, what, and where the surrounds you and while you’re in that seeet place of pause take a deep breath and thank God for that moment.
He meets us in the middle of our chaos, our messes, and in the pauses and goodness I am thankful.
Psalm 36:5-9 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord. 7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.
