Made the little b*st*Ed’s climb up a mountain again 🤣.
🚠 up to the monastery then hike up some steep climbs! Stunning views and breath taking scenery.
Viva Espana!
Summer Sunsetting ☀️
Fallen benchmark on the south side of your Roaches. This mark was used by surveyors to determine the height above sea level. With tech and gps these marks are no longer in use and will fade into history.
Peak District Trig Point Challenge 38/90: Kinder Low. As dramatic as you’d expect it to be. 6 mile hike with the kids to visits this epic at 641m. It’s high enough to be a mountain but classed as a plateau.
❤️
Peak District Trig Point Challenge 37/90 Hollinsclough Moor.
Bagged this one after running
It was conveniently located opposite the car park entrance for the race. Also introduced and to trig point bagging 🤣😝😂
Peak District Trig Point challenge. High Wheeldon. This lonely trig has the some of that most stunning views of the Dragons Back (Chrome Hill). It’s easily accessible from the road side as long as you don’t mind climbing a STEEP HILL!!
❤️
Peak District Trig Point Challenge 32/33/34/35 out of 90: Moor Top, Bradnop, Martins Low and Grindon Moor. These 4 trigs are all located on private but right next to the road side so we bagged them on our way home. To be honest not much to write home about with these 4 Trigs. If they weren’t on the challenge you bother with them.
Peak District Trig point challenge 31/90: Hill House. The 3rd of the days adventures. Another short drive a walk took us to this old Pilar located on a fairly remote and untrodden public footpath. This out the way trig has some nice the Manifold Valley.
Peak District Trig Point challenge 30/90: Blake Mere. The Trig of the day we drove up from Warslow and took a short walk across the access land to the grade 2 listed Trig. Well worth it for the fantastic views of Staffordshire peaks!
Peak District challenge 29/ 90 Revidge. This Trig point was in a beautiful and quiet part of that Staffordshire Peaks. An easy walk from Warslow. No problem for for little legs!
A run with a view! Catching the sunset on the moors with a cheeky dusk trail run.
I would like to say I’m about to embark on nighttime commando mission….
But I cannot lie it’s a deep cleanse charcoal face mask. I blame harry styles and Sam smith! 😜Rock N Roll 🤘
There’s always someone new to discover. You don’t always have to travel far to discover something new either. Try a different path and Keep your eyes open. I discover this monument on Birchen edge, an area where I’ve ran a couple of times before. Today though I looped round a different path and stumbled upon Nelson Monument and the words ‘defiance’ and ‘victory’ carved into the rock.
Revisited the Oxstone trigpoint and caught up with an old PT client and friend.
It was more like an OCR than a trail run with all the mud bogs to jump across. A workout for the mind, body and soul!
A Run with a View 🏞️
When I run in frozen conditions. I have to be more mindful. Every step has to feel the ground under you. It’s not about speed, it’s above awareness.
Awareness of the interaction between my body and the Earth beneath me.
Peak District Trig Point challenge. 28/90 The Roaches. Spotted this Trig at the end a Family hike down the Lud’s Church. The Mrs kindly let me run up the hill to bag it! Stunning views this side of the Peaks, don’t get the venture out here to often!
You start the year with intention of making changes and improving yourself physically but sometimes that comes unstuck.
If you start every January with the “new year, new me” attitude but never make the changes you want, you have to start looking beyond January and at the bigger picture.
What’s stopping you the rest of the year?
Is it your attitude?
Is it your circumstances?
Do you go too big too soon?
Do you have habits that are hard to break?
Sometimes you need to take small actions. Focus on little goals and make small changes. Those small action will eventually accumulate to big changes.
Dare to dream big but don’t be scared to start small!

When the wee bairn thinks he’s from Glasgow!
Best life hack ever. If you shop at Aldi or Lidl this will change your life! 🤣😃👌
First head torch 🔦 run of the winter! 4K on the moors in the edge of the peaks. Bogey, wet and dark. Don’t to normal!
You have to balance the Yin and Yang aspects of training. For me, I have to focus more on my Yin - the internal and aspects of exercise. Where I can focus on both mind and body in regenerative and recuperative manner.

The perfect Autumn day for scrambling up rocks! ❤️
Peak District Trig Point Challenge 26/27 of 90: Emlin Ridge and Whitwell Moor. Easy to access but a big walk for little legs. Drove between the two moors so mini beast only walked just under 6km. Not bad a just turned 4 year old! Very pleasant moorland with very few people around perfect if you want a quiet walk away from the Peak District crowds. The village of Bradwell is stunning as well!
25/90 Peak District Trig Point Challenge: Kirk Edge. A mini Adventure with the mini Beast! This is an Easy to find and Easy to access Trig up on Onesmoor next to University weather centre. Windy as f**k! Mini beast nearly flew away! 🌬Also found some Shrooms. Not the magic kind though 🤣
Bit wet out there today! 🌧☔️
Nothing better than running up a hill in the rain! No one but yourself and your own thoughts.
Never had much luck with official half marathon road races. This is the first attempt where I’ve not injured myself!
The one goal set was to beat my last attempt at the Newark half. With only about 10m of climb Newark was a completely different beast to the 518m on the . Official times not in but it looks like I beat Newark by about 1 minute 🤞.
Well done to everybody for putting a quality event!
Great Marshalling, quality event village and most importantly at decent finisher bag and medal! Looking forward to Big Dipper Beer by after this epic 21.1k👌
Pre half marathon selfie. Never have much luck with half marathons maybe a seriously hilly one will be different? 🤔
It’s been an Apple and Blackberry kind of day!
You know you’re middle aged when you take a survey and your age option is bang in the middle! 🤣🤣
Skinners Barefoot socks. Strengthening your feet 🦶 is like strengthening the roots of a Tree. When the roots are strong the trunk is strong and the foliage is bountiful!
Man made streets and pavements aren’t optimal for walking on barefoot. Too much dirt and foreign objects. So far the socks are providing the protection needed but the feel of the walking barefoot!
Peak District Trig point Challenge: 24/90 Edale Moor. One of the highest trig points the Peak District. This was a tough climb straight up and up for 3k from Edale.
Looped round to Grindslow Knoll a peak on Kinder Scott that’s 601m high! High enough to be a mountain but officially not because It’s a plateau!
Taking advantage of the ☀️ with an early morning outdoor workout. A cheeky little 15 min AMRAP.
150m sprints (dad jogs really as I’m carrying an injury)
5x Flintstone bar deadlift
5x single hand Tire Flips
5x box jump
5x Pull ups
5x low row
10x Hindu Squat
Not a killer workout but just nice a steady to get the blood flowing in the morning.
Peak District Trig Point Challenge 19/20: Harland Moor
Bagged this Trig with a cheeky little run before the sister in laws wedding. Smartest I’ll ever look on a run!
