Guys!
(our Harry in “Seeking Persephone”) has written, and will be starring alongside his amazingly talented wife, , in a short film about the struggles of mental health and new fatherhood—such an important topic, but one we don’t talk about enough. Doesn’t it sound amazing?!
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running to fund the film. Go check it out!

(Y’all, I’ll cheer on Toby in anything he does; he really is talented and hard-working and a delightful human being.)
Who just finished another screenplay? This gal!
Need to go back and add in some details, flesh a few things out. But it’s solid, and I’m pretty happy with it.
This snippet is from my just-announced March 2025 release, “The Tides of Time,” the first in my brand new time-slip romance series. A woman from Revolutionary France. A man from Victorian-era England. Mystery. Danger. Romance…. It’s gonna be amazing. ❤️
It’s Music Monday!
In light of last Thursday’s announcement of “The Tides of Time” - my brand new time slip romance coming in March - I thought I’d share a song I listened to a TON while writing that book. In this brand new universe, time travel happens on the water, sparking folk tales and legends. While this particular song, a New Zealand folk song from the 1970s in the tradition of sea shanties, takes a magical approach to an epic battle between whale and whaling ship, it has the feel of something enormous and dangerously supernatural on the overpowering waves of the sea that pulled me into the mystical waters of this story.
“As far as I've heard, the fight's still on,
The line's not cut, and the whale's not gone.
The Wellerman makes his regular call
To encourage the captain, crew and all.”
Can’t wait for all of you to dive into the world of “The Tides of Time.” It’s quite a ride!

One year ago today--July 13, 2023--we had our very first in-person production meeting for the ❤️ It was the first time I met Jake Stormoen and Ryann Bailey, though I'd been stalking them (for very official and businessy reasons) for a little while. That meeting kicked off, not only a dream project, but also dream friendships with these two delightful people, despite my trademark tendency to start things off with rampant awkwardness.
Happy Persephiversary, everyone!
COMING MARCH 2025!

Shall we play the “what series do you think this is from” game, again?? What’s your guess?
I like to think I look this cool after a full day of writing. I don't. But I am having fun.
It’s Music Monday!
Today I’m featuring a song for Julia and Lucas Jonquil, parents of the Jonquil brothers and the heroine and hero of “Forget Me Not.” As I was writing their story and as I’m working on the rest of the Gents series, this is a song I associate deeply with them. It encapsulates in beautiful ways what they both need from each other, what they’re longing for and working toward.
In this verse, I hear echoes of Julia:
“It's long been on my mind,
You know it's been a long, long time.
I've tried to find the way that I can make you understand
The way I feel about you
And just how much I need you
To be there where I can talk to you
When there's no one else around.”
And in this one, echoes of Lucas:
“You see I'd like to share my life with you
And show you things I've seen,
Places that I'm going to,
Places where I've been.
To have you there beside me.
To never be alone.
And all the time that you're with me
We will be at home.”
Both have known sorrow and loss and need the security and connection that comes from being seen and understood and loved. As the years pass and the Gents series continues, I get to help them find that in each other and learn to offer that to the other in the way they each need. And I love that we get to see them grow into the loving, devoted, and amazing couple who raised such incredible sons and gave home and belonging and love to so many lonely and heartbroken children who needed the love they so fully offered.

The injera turned out great! Had it with some butternut squash soup. 😋
Mad Scientist or Baker Gleefully Watching Her Injera Batter Bubble With Life??? Kinda both, honestly.
Having added screenwriting to my list of endeavors has been really fun and really challenging. But coming up with characters like Jolene, who cracks me up, makes it super entertaining.

I recently started working on the next book in the Hope Springs series. Y’all have been asking for years if Finbarr O’Connor would finally get to have his happy ever after, and I’m so happy that is finally happening. I adore Finbarr, and he deserves to be happy again.
This song is one that really fits where he is as this new installment in the Hope Springs universe opens. It’s been a decade since the fire, and Finbarr has finally reached the point where he’s found some peace with it all.
“It'd be easy to add up all the pain
And all the dreams you sat and watched go up in flames
Dwell on the wreckage as it smolders in the rain
But not me, I'm alive
And today, you know that's good enough for me”
He’s alive. He’s not as tormented as he has been. But it’s time for him to start living.

I had requests for a shot of the entire T-shirt. It’s one of my faves! 💛💛💛
Did you know that the answer to the question
“Who decides what the characters are doing in a scene?“
is…
“The screenwriter“???
Soooo annoying. I don’t know what these characters should do with their lives. I don’t even know what *I* should be doing with my life.
Honestly, one of my favorite things about The Heart of a Vicar was how obvious it was so quickly, once we were in Harold’s point-of-view, that everyone underestimated him, including himself. But I also love that Sorrel saw it before any of his brothers did.

Tansy is one of my favorite characters in the Savage Wells series. She is hilarious and forthright and determined and unwavering in her dedication to do what she feels is right. And she is the very best friend a person could hope for.
Her role in the big showdown in Wyoming Wild is pretty epic. If you’ve read it, you know what I’m talking about. And this song was one that gave me the feel of Tansy in that moment.
“We can be heroes everywhere we go.
Keeping us down is impossible.
'Cause we're unstoppable.”
Tansy, who has spent her life being dismissed, proves she is legitimately unstoppable.

Clearly, and I have no fun when we get to hang out. 😂 You can imagine how much fun being on set is for the ❤️
Hat tip to & .bookish.romantic for capturing these moments.
Gave a keynote.
I don’t think it was terrible. 😂
❤️
Guess that series!

Valley of Dreams is the sixth installment in my Hope Springs series. Like all the others, music plays a very significant role in the story. And, like the music in the other books, the tunes features in this one are real folk tunes that people of the era would know and love and sing.
“Love, Won’t You Marry Me” is sung by the O’Connor brothers at one point in the book, so I thought I’d share that tune with you. This version is performed by the Makem Brothers, a well-known family of folk singers.
Enjoy!

Ah, good ol’ Nickolas Pritchard. He didn’t believe the solicitor’s warning. Inarguably, hilariously, mischievously, tragically, entertainingly haunted.
It’s Music Monday!
Today’s musical selection is pulled directly from one of the manuscripts I have recently been working on. It graces the pages and makes for an important plot point.
It’s “Heart and Soul.” Yes, the famous plunk-it-out-on-the-piano, tons-of-people-know-how-to-play-this-and-nothing-else, Tom-Hanks-and-Robert-Loggia-playing-with-their-feet-on-the-giant-floor-piano “Heart and Soul.” That one.
Seems odd, probably, and a little bit of a strange fit for one of my books, but it’s a brilliant fit for this one.

With the cover reveal of "Snapdragons" on Thursday, I've had a lot of people ask about the chronological order of these interconnected series. Here's a handy currently-up-to-date list. And, for the future, the list is kept current on my website all the time: www.SarahMEden.com/bookshelf
Finished up a manuscript today. Now I get to jump back into a screenplay and make it not terrible 🤞
