Cleaning Plug Holes
Pour a few tablespoons of baking soda down, add equal amount of vinegar and leave for around 20 mins, then simply rinse with warm water
Broken Glass:
If you ever drop glass on the floor and it shatters into lots of pieces, the best way to collect the little shards is to use a lint roller, a pet one preferably as those ones have a stronger adhesive on them.
Pick up the larger pieces very carefully, then use the lint roller for the tiny bits, then simply peel the roller sheet off and dispose of it
to finish off vacuum thoroughly.
This works better on a hard floor, but can be done on carpets too, just bear in mind carpets will need a very good vacuum afterwards.
Show your plants some love
I will begin this by saying I am not green fingered at all :), but I do often get asked if there is a good way to clean house plants, in particular leafy green plants.
Taking some time to care for your plant will allow you to inspect it, look for mites or disease and see if it needs a good old glug of water or it may need repotting.
Dust on your plants can stop sunlight getting to them and they need that for good health
Plants will attract dust and depending how delicate your plant is
A strong plant with heavy shiny leaves, a shower may do the trick. Please bear in mind no ice cold blasts of water, nice and lukewarm will be perfect
If the plant is too heavy to move and has nice robust leaves, wipe them down with a microfibre cloth, wipe on both sides of the leaf.
If its a delicate plant, a little misty spray of water may be just enough to keep dust at bay
If your plant has fuzzy leaves, I have found a baby's hairbrush is invaluable to clean off dust
Hoping the lovely lady who messaged me yesterday will see this, my business suite has lost your message, I have been waiting on tech support from Facebook for several hours but no reply, please message again :)
Doormats
A good way to minimize dirt getting into your home is to use 2 doormats, one outside and one inside
Of course the mats have to be cleaned regularly, to keep your house clean but the beauty of 2 mats is most of the dirt will come off boots and shoes on the outside mat, and then it's a double layer of protection if feet get wiped on the indoor mat too
