Tanya Doan Artist
Fun & playful analog artworks + digital illustrations. Creator of apathetic sheep.
2023 started out strong in which I found myself in an art exhibition at a gallery and I managed to get some new art made, new products and ideas created (some worked well others failed miserably), and tested out new markets to sell in with (mostly) nice results.
But overall it was creatively slower than past years, as I tried to find my balance. AS usual there were both ups and downs. One day I’ll hopefully transition into being a full time artist but for now I am still finding my stride as I try new things.
In the new year I need to concentrate on other areas of my life and step back oh so slightly BUT I have new ideas and creative directions I want to explore and will find a way to fit it in. Some of my favorite moments are collaborating and getting inspired by my artist peers here in Berlin.
Bring on 2024!
A coat of arms I created earlier this year, loosely connected to a secret elopement in Copenhagen this past September: mine! 😎
I enjoyed wearing a floofy sparkly dress all over town, the weather gods blessed us, and we had tacos later that evening to celebrate. ’Twas a good day.

MEH-RRY XMAS ❄️
How it started: 2018, with Katie (), selling at what was the first market in Berlin for each of us. We kept warm with a bit of Glühwein, and at one point the electricity went out leaving us to sell under the extra-moody lighting from our LED decor lights.
How it’s going: 2023 and the first time sharing a market stand since that very first market! We are here today at *tshopping from 12-7pm. This time we get to be indoors and staying much warmer.

The holiday season is coming soon; I’ll be selling you the cutest and most perfect gifts at these markets alongside some of my lovely artist peers, and debuting some special new Christmas products. Come by!

I am participating in one of the many October drawing challenges, via . But likely only on a weekly basis due to time and energy issues. This one is from today’s prompt, !
Excited to announce the release of COMICS x GESCHMACK! I was invited to collaborate with to adorn their minimalist drink bottles with my art. 6 other artists and I took over a corner of to unleash our visions upon a new medium.
All bottles are now available online for you to add to (or start!) your art collection. You can buy, drink, then keep the bottles as these are the ORIGINAL, single edition pieces. Link in bio.

Missed me last time? Don’t fret, I’m doing 2 more markets this month!
This past weekend was fun.
Here’s a little artwork, 3 of 3, I painted last summer that I never got around to posting.

I got access to a button machine, and made some for this weekend’s market .art.market! You can also DM me if interested in any. These are 100% handmade and the holographic ones are individually hand-drawn. Each piece is therefore unique.
This sheep is wearing a bikini that appears a bit loose, seeing that it is fitted around its fluff and not its body. That’s how it rolls.
Surf’s up!
It’s actually a bit ironic I made this drawing. I lived in Southern California from age 12-23, but never got into the whole “SoCal” culture (I did run away to live in NYC for awhile after all). The beach culture there is prevalent, even the local high schools have a surf team. My teenage self hated all of those mainstream things and connected with the weirdos, nerds, and indie kids. But now I am in landlocked Berlin and I often miss the sea, something I took for granted living on both US coasts. In this case I’d say I do miss a sea with big waves crashing, as the Baltic Sea doesn’t really do this, and the apathetic sheep surfing could actually be me because meh 😄
