General information

While supporting the mission and principles of the Surfrider Foundation, the Long Beach Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to reconfiguring the Long Beach Breakwater to bring waves back to Long Beach.

The Long Beach Chapter of Surfrider Foundation has been active since 1996, and has more than 1000 members in the Long Beach area (as of November 2009). The chapter’s efforts mostly focus on the “Sink the Breakwater” campaign to bring waves back to the shores of Long Beach.

Other chapter campaigns/activities include beach clean-ups, Rise Above Plastics and Ocean Friendly Garden.

Our organization is a non-profit chapter, that benefits only from your direct support locally. If you are interested in volunteering your skills and time, or would like to make a donation to our local chapter please contact any of our executive committee members listed in our website. We appreciate your support and help in maintaining our local beaches.
