Today we experimented with sun and shadows, checking where the sun was and how it affected their shadows at 9:00, 12:00, and 2:30.
Our leprechauns outsmarted the leprechaun traps, but they left some coins and a sweet treat.
We tested our knowledge of the design process today by planning and building structures that would support a large marshmallow. We tested our structures, and noted the strengths and weaknesses of our designs. When necessary, we redesigned, and then we communicated with each other about what worked best.
So exciting to have Darcy the dog visit our classroom today!

We looked so nice on Picture Day! After pictures, we made and tasted butter using directions from our nonfiction reading page. It was delicious!
Thank you to our school cafeteria workers, Sara and Crystal, and SFE foods for providing our kids with the ingredients and opportunity to make their own pizzas today!
Second Grade had a wonderful time at our Famous Americans Wax Museum! They researched their American, took notes, wrote rough drafts, and published their final biographies. Then they presented some of the information they learned to other grade levels and to friends and family. They were fantastic!
Valentine's Day 2023
A wonderful evening with our second grade students and their families tonight at Native American Craft Night for Families! Our students were able to share what they had learned during class about Native Americans and their customs in different regions of the United States. We also made crafts and tasted a food from each region.
