What a great way to end our summer gig season! Our gig at Raven Landing was quite fun and our audience was exceptional! A highlight was the presentation of a personalized cap to our conga/bongo player extraordinaire, Lew Shapiro. Lew is a co-founder of Cold Steel and has been with us since the beginning - that means 25+ years! Thank you, Lew!
Hope to see many of you at our last gig of the summer on Tuesday. It will be a celebration of 25+ years of steel pan music in Fairbanks! Great music, refreshments and fans of steel pans make for a perfect evening!

Cold Steel performed for nearly two hours at Ski Land's Tamarack Grill on Saturday, April 1 for 'Island Day'. There were many skiers and snowboarders coming and going and the place was hopping! As the photo reveals, we were a bit cramped but had a great time playing. Thank you, Ski Land, for inviting us!
We just finished a week of steel drum workshop with the winter edition of the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, taught by CJ Menge from Austin, Texas. We learned 4 new tunes that the band will be playing for you this coming summer!
From the Cold Steel photo archive - Alaska Railroad passing through Fairbanks as we perform at the Music in the Garden gig at the Georgeson Botanical Center on the Univ. of AK campus during the summer of 2022. This train is always full of tourists taking the train up from Denali National Park. Our waves are their first taste of Fairbanks hospitality!
