We are truly proud of the Spirit of the Winds! Although we didn't receive the rating we might have wished for, all the judges gave us "3’s" which indicates an average performance. While the perfectionists within us may feel a tinge of disappointment, it's important to remember that the judges didn't witness our overall progress or the remarkable accomplishments our band has achieved this season. Let's use this solid foundation and the progress we've already made as stepping stones to further success.
The Spirit of the Winds Marching Band is ready to showcase their talent today at the Region UIL Contest in Lubbock. Join us at Lowrey Field at 4:35 PM to witness their performance! 🎺🥁

Whirlwinds,
These past four years at Floydada have been a joy and a blessing. Alex and I have never felt more welcomed by a community before, and we are eternally thankful to you all. It has been a sincere pleasure to collaborate with these amazing young adults and to watch them grow, not only as musicians, but as teammates and as well-rounded human beings. We have truly made some beautiful and exciting music together over the years.
My spouse and I have been offered an opportunity in San Angelo that we have decided will be best for our family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful accomplishments the Floydada music program has in store in the coming years. While my heart is so heavy at the thought of leaving all of the wonderful people in Floydada and the Panhandle, I am looking forward to this new opportunity to help young adults grow and to grow myself as an educator and musician.
Since I did not have an opportunity to make this announcement before school concluded, I would like to offer anyone who wishes to say goodbye an opportunity to do so. I will be at the Band Hall at 1:00pm on Monday, July 10.
