Pet food donations are way down :( We did not receive enough donations to share with the Food Bank this week. So there will not be Pet Food this week. Because donations are down considerably, we will be making one delivery per month to the Food Bank instead of two. When donations increase, we will go back to twice a month. We will make a delivery May 23.
If you are able to help, you can drop of dry and wet, dog and cat food at the donation bin, at Petco in Rock Springs, WY. We also need cat litter, and can pass on gently used pet beds and toys, please make sure they are clean. If you have a partial bag in the original bag, tape it closed. If it is not in the original bag, put it in a large zip lock, and label the brand and type with a sharpie. Make sure donations are labeled PPP (Petunia's Pet Pantry) and we will get them picked up and delivered to the Food Bank.
You can also make monetary donations via paypal at [email protected] or Venmo -Shively-2 please make note it is for PPP. PPP is a pet project of Second Chance to Dance Dachshund Rescue, which is also in need of donations for medical care of the homeless Dachshunds. So label your donation so it goes either to the Dachshunds or the Pet Pantry. You can also drop off a check to Commerce Bank of Wyoming, or mail to SC2DDR, PO Box 333, Farson, WY 82932
Consider challenging your employer to do employee Pet Food Drive! If you participate in a buy 12 bags, get one bag free program at Petco, Joe's or Murdochs consider donating that free bag!
Thank You!

Petunia's Pet Pantry, shut down Distribution Days last month, due to the director's failing health. Pet Kibble is still being collected, at the donation bin at the Rock Springs, WY Petco store. Donations are being delivered to the Food Bank of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs. The Food Bank will have Pet kibble available to families on their distribution days (see attached schedule). Kibble is available on a first come, first serve basis, so get there early.
I have delivered 2500 pounds of dog and cat kibble, dog and cat wet food and some litter that will be available at tomorrow's distribution at the Food Bank of Sweetwater County, in Rock Springs. We are still looking for a way to get pet food to the Green River location, and will announce that if we are able to accomplish that.
There will not be an emergency stash of kibble available, all food will be taken to the Food Bank of Sweetwater County, and their distribution days will be the only available dates to get pet food. Please, do not call The Red Desert Humane Society for emergency pet food, as they are not staffed to provide that service. Please plan accordingly, to get to the Food Bank, if you are unable to feed your pet.
It's been an amazing time the last 7 years, being of service to Sweetwater County Pets in needs. It has done my heart good, to help our furry friends. Much Love to all our amazing volunteers that made it happen, and all the wonderful folks that donated.
Thank You and Goodnight from Miss Petunia's Mom
