My favorite Chef sent me a package and uses recipes to pad the box which is already the most chef thing you could possibly do…or at least I thought so, until this one came with a notice to appear and I cackled and said outloud, “ No THIS is the most chef thing you could possibly do!”🤣🤣🤣🤣😘😘😘🤌🤌🤌👨‍🍳🤌

It also contained a vintage wooden spoon that no doubt holds a deal of sentimentality to this brilliant chef, so in his honor and the honor of every Nonna to come before, I shall be serving up finger whippings with it from now on when we cook together. You’ve been warned. 🤣🤣🤣❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

The craziest s**t about being diagnosed with a super rare disease—aside from the incredible degaslighting—is realizing all the things you thought were totally normal and everyone experienced were, in fact, not. 🤣😘

I have hand selected my favorite bits of Baltimore to encompass the three tenets of wellness and highlight their unique healing modalities, and expand our ideas of what wellness “looks” like. It looks different for everyone!! A wellness event at a brewery might sound a bit strange at first, but Pariah isn’t just a brewery. It has been a source a great love and healing in my life since they moved down the street two years ago. And no, it’s not the beer, in fact there’s only one I can even drink because I’m allergic to most beers. 😅 Then why is it my favorite place in town? The beer is great—really truly exceptional—but it’s the people and the vibes that make Pariah the perfect venue to show that, no matter where you are at in life, you are always held by this community!

To honor my sober friends, I have teamed up with and to create a line of herbal tonics aligned with each chakra! We will have samples available so you can find your vibe, and pocket sized dropper bottles that you can take anywhere to elevate any beverage!

Be on the lookout this weekend for a full menu that I am SO excited to premiere! This collaboration with Chef Nick at Diamondback and evolved into taking the concept one step further and inspired our “All In the Family” menu, which will also highlight amazing mushrooms from our homies at and ._ and the incredible things they do with a grill!

Long awaited, a story I have meant to share but stay with me on the ADHD synchronicity train for a tip…. after I tiffed with my mother at an intense family party, or at the very least may have embarrassed her, trying to curate the needs of the many, becoming human, realizing it, and then taking responsibility for it, I pontificated on the family dynamics with my Uber driver. I laughed salty tears of humanity inside and out. A few egomaniacal why mes later, I then found myself sitting on my porch in the pouring rain, suddenly a new like on a post, (I think?) in actuality, I have no ideas about what prompted a Facebook notification about a story I shared in May, that I have read twice in the past week, to appear just now, but here we are in 3D 4D and 5D. Writing it as we are reading it. Nevertheless, I clicked on the notification and was pulled to my own words about where I come from and how I learned. {See Dad Saves Some Guy} … as I began to read my words out loud to my Lost Boys (it’s one of their favorite stories, even in 5D), I remembered I had not yet shared its counterpart, its divine feminine yin. Just then, the divine mother of one of my lost boys sent me a message. And I remembered all again: why me…. Because I GET to see. Often it feels like a burden seeing what others do not and I pity myself for my wandering, but ultimately, this burden of knowing is the truest gift box. Even when it’s impossibly heavy.

Below I am sharing a piece of my mother that made an indelible piece of me, and I hope that if your holidays are less than graceful, if you let your buttons be pushed, if you allow yourself to human a little deeper, that you not only forgive yourself, but love yourself even more because of it.

Without further ado, “Wicked sisters on this bus.”. A story brought to you by two amazing moms, Carm Dorsey and that lost boy who spoke to my spirit’s mom Alex’s, Sandy Stockslader.

Today I’m going to tell a story that’s not mine to tell, so I hope I do it justice. When my mom, Carmalyn Dorsey, was a young nurse, about my age now, she had just begun a new job, one of many she would maintain throughout my childhood, most definitely where I get that from.

She was working with these two wonderful nuns who had traveled the world helping people in impoverished countries across the globe in a myriad of ways, and she was so eager to learn by immersing herself in their presence and their work.

As one of her first assignments with these nuns and the Julie Community Center which she may even still be on the payroll for, she boarded a bus in front of the Fountain Baptist church in Southeast Baltimore, full of Black Activist Chuch Elders and her favorite two nuns.

As she filed in to the middle of the bus—the Carmy seat, the best seat in the house to see all the action— she observed woman after woman greet each other with “Good Morning, Sister!”
“Hi, Sister!”
“How are you Sister?”
They were on their way to Annapolis to rally for equal food rights (of course, she made a Chef, a Councilman, and a Clinical Therapist, after all) A critical human rights issue at the time, as Baltimore City had been a food desert at that point for then decades, and where my fierce advocacy for food for all comes from.

She sat as the Elders greeted her “Welcome Sister,” to which Carm replied, “oh well I’m not really a nun, just working for the community center, I’m a nurse!”
One of the Black Elders responded, “Honey, We’re All Sisters On this Bus.”

It was her first of many full immersion introductions to the Black community in Baltimore which she still serves today, helping the culinary program at the Franciscan center. In all her decades immersed in those communities, and in communities of people disenfranchised and forgotten, feeding and healing Baltimore’s poorest population in each way Hippocrates oathed her to, mind, body, and spirit, the greatest lesson she would take from these women of great biblical faith and dedication to god, was that, “they never proselytized, they just made the soup.”

Last week as I shared soup with my closest friends as the fed me on consecutive nights in a time of deep need, a time of deep grief and sadness, I recalled the words of that Black Elder activist that day to my mom, “we’re all sisters on this bus.” So thank you for being here today to make soup with me, cuz we’re all sisters on this bus,
on this planet,
badass, wicked sister warriors of unconditional love and agents of change on this planet.

We’re all wicked sisters on this bus. No matter your gender, after all, my dear friend Alex, whom I just lost, was the greatest sister on this planet, and he was a man.

Time Out of Space

Can I tell you a secret? I don’t know what day Jay died. Seven years ago was the worst days of my life. I say days because it took me the first six years to even remember what day it had happened. Because in all honesty, it was an event that didn’t start and end on one day, it plucked an entire week out of time and space and played it on loop for months. It took me six years to fully retell the story, point by point, moment by moment, which I told to my friend Nightfall who had just lost her partner, as our first conversation ever. Time out of space. The illusion torn asunder as piece by piece, I was, too. As I shattered into a million pieces now strewn across the galaxy, the universe, infinity like the rubble left behind from a car crash that cost you the thing you had held so precious and clung so tight to.

Had I not lost enough? My ego defended me. It stood up real tall, broadening its shoulders like a mama bear protecting her cub, as I laid helpless, just born, waiting to open my eyes.

Was not my mentor, my cousin, my best friends father, my best friends boyfriends, my best chef friend, my highschool crush x2, family members gone too young, was none of that ENOUGH?!

I began to see the pattern expressing itself. It rose off the page and embodied every dimension I could observe and a few I wasn’t quite familiar with yet. And as the pattern revealed itself, it revealed to me the story that I had written for myself long ago.

I often recall the words of my father’s cousin that day, “This can’t be real… to have one person lose so much, so young…”
And then those words exploded across the cosmos like a Big Bang inside my head.

Real it was. Coincidence it was not. It was in the reflection of those words that I finally first saw myself fully. That I finally remembered why I came here. That I had written this story for a reason, and I could not stop reading it halfway through. The children want to hear how it ends.

“What a horrible coincidence…what terrible luck,” those sentiments suddenly were unequivocally untrue. That was the moment I truly knew and admitted out loud for the first time that, “There are no coincidences.”

That, no, it could not possibly be that all my friends are dead for no reason. There had to be a reason I had written the most fu**ed up ghost story in history and then decided to live it.

And there it was. To live it. I DECIDED to LIVE it. That the only guarantee when I came here was that I would not make it out alive, at least not this vessel. I decided that to truly LIVE the life I had written, I had to then share it. I had written this book to teach others something, and although I did not yet know what that something was, I was sure that it was the purpose behind all of my pain and suffering. That this suffering taught me a depth of joy that many on this plain will never experience and that my wretched pain, was in fact not me breaking, but me breaking open.

And I break open every day that I allow my story to live, opening a little more each time. And not only do I break open, but my geode cracking open, smashing into another geode that then also cracks open. Together we shine, exposing our glittering microcrystalline insides for all the world to glow under the light of and heal through the power of. My story is not one, but many. It is the story of consciousness on Earth. It is the story of incarnating into an incubator of growth and progress. It it not my story. It is our story, and together I look forward to reading the rest out loud with you all.

In your sixth year in heaven, I did so many things you were proud of, and I put our initials on my receiving hand in a language you now understand, reborn to your alien home. J + K to remind me that we were really just here to joke around, that there is no time and space, that we are all one, that it is all sooo fu***ng beautiful, and whatever you're doing here on earth, you're Just Kidding around until your next set starts.

I love you, I've been there, and I am here for you all. Always, all ways: mind, body, and spirit.

Extremely thrilled to announce that 8 year old me was, in fact, correct, and I am the BEST. At something 🤣 Seriously though, of all the accolades I have garnished over a fantastic career of feeding people mind, body, and spirit, this one, with this group, helping others find themselves and live their truths is by far the best one yet.
