Know that I’ve thought long and hard about this and this was not an easy decision to make.

As many of you know, I started baking empanadas in 2011 because I missed home. Over the years that turned into me taking a few orders here and there and a few more during holiday seasons.

In 2020, out of the desire to see friendly faces, even if it was just through a window, I started baking and expanding my menu to give away free Goodies to my loved ones.

Crazy that I was giving away FREE Goodies? Maybe. But I think even crazier that those same loved ones told me I needed to stop giving my talent away and do it for profit.

Two long and blessed years later full out countless empanadas, cupcakes, picositos, and so on…. I’m about ready to hang my apron. I’m ready to spend more time with the ones I love.

Over a month ago I finally landed a job in the field of my dreams! ♥️ and no matter how much effort I put into my studies, it still feels like my Bachelor’s is years away so that’s something I really want to concentrate on to keep growing in my field of choice. Because while I may enjoy baking and have a knack for it…. it’s not where my heart is.

From now until April I will continue to give it my all and be as available as I can be at markets. If you have been at markets and haven’t caught my empanadas recently, you probably already know they are permanently off my market menu.

Come May I plan on taking a summer break and come back in the fall - hopefully only once a month with my usual fall menu… again minus the empanadas.

So here is the hardest part… I will no longer be offering empanadas year round - at markets nor for custom orders. I will only have them for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with limited spots and with the intention of retiring them for good eventually.

This is of course subject to change because… well shoot… times are hard 💵😂

So that’s my heart out on the table for you all. I hope you all receive it as well as you have every Goodie you’ve had from me.

Because I’ve been asked, NO, my business or my recipes are not for sale. I will continue to be the sole owner of Elsita’s Empanadas until my mom says I can give her recipe away… and she already said never. 😂

Welp… that’s that. Pre-orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas are now open. 🥰

So I have some not so good news…

Long story short, I accidentally lost my spot 😭 I want to thank the staff for the amazing year I’ve had with you all. Thank you to my fellow vendors, especially ! You guys are my rock! To my amazing customers, thank you for always coming out to support. ♥️ I promise I will continue trying to get a spot again and keep you all posted should anything change.
